Goals

[edit]

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? To an extent, the goal of this project was met:
a. Our community is once more re-enkindled and this gave them sense of belonging in the activities of WUGN.
b. The importance of editing across the Wikimedia project dawned on the participants as they noticed that heir inability to participate in the project was as a result of their inactiveness - they saw the need to be active and promised to contribute more.
c. Even though the targeted outcome was not achieved, however, I'm happy that the community is placed right on track once more and looking for a positive and better outcome in our subsequent projects.

Outcome

[edit]

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants.

Target outcome Achieved outcome Explanation
2000 396 The targeted outcome of this project was not achieved due to some challenges encountered during the project (participants' IP Address was blocked which stopped them from contributing to the project. Also due to the eligibility criteria of a minimum of 500 edits on the English Wikipedia, most participants could not contribute to the projects.

Learning

[edit]

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

What worked well in this project is that the Wiki Niger Delta Network is engaged once more. They attended both the online and offline sessions. They also got to learn to contribute to the WPWP Campaign.

  • What did not work so well?

Just as I indicated in the proposal, as a community still trying to revive, the in-person turnout was not much. However, we're hopeful that with continuous project engagement, there will be more positive outcomes.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Based on the feedback from the participants, we would not centralize our physical meet-ups. Would would rather have it in clusters to ensure easy accessibility for individuals coming from different locations.
