Wikipedia Training for Taraba Wikipedians has been largely an amazing yet productive project. The event did well in upholding the core aims of the project; many articles have been created and others improved, and impact has been made, as well as continuing the journey of sustaining the Wikimedia Taraba Community.

What worked well?

The participants' selection, online and offline training, and contribution have been an incredibly amazing and very fulfilling experience. The event strategy of in-person session really worked out.

What did not work so well?

The articles creation for beginners is somehow tedious. As a result, not all of the participants were able to create articles on their own.

What would you do differently next time?

Instead of articles creation, I will focus on basic editing capacity building as we raise from bottom to top.

Grant funds spent

₦250,00 was spent entirely on the project. ₦20,000 went for providing promotional materials and merchandise; ₦80,000 was spent on hall renting; ₦10,000 for renting a projector; ₦15,000 for an alternative power supply; ₦80,000 was used for refreshment; ₦15,000 for branded T-shirts; and ₦30,000 for the contest.
