The closing committee member provided the following comment:

It is the policy of the language subcommittee that only languages with living native communities may create new wikis. Middle Dutch is classified by ISO 639-3 as "historic", and various other sources confirm that it is extinct with no native communities. —{admin} Pathoschild 10:13:40, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
