Hi! I'd like administrator access on [Wikipedia as Gaeilige http://www.ga.wikipedia.org]. My userpage can be found here. I submitted a local request many months ago and the page hasn't been edited since. I'm a native Irish speaker, and have had some experience on other Wikimedia projects. Inuktitut Wikipedia

I would like to request permanent sysop status for iu:User:Qrc2006. He has recently revived the Inuktitut language edition and is the only active user who speaks Inuktitut. He has since put great efforts into turning what was a collection of sub-stubs into something that could one day become a real encyclopaedia. At present, the only other sysop iu:User:Thogo is absent and this situation might continue for a while, during which spam keeps accumulating on that Wiki. I have asked him, whether he would agree to volunteer as admin [2], and he has agreed. [3] Since he is the only active user (except for Thogo, Steinbach and me, who just help a little bit but do not understand any Inuktitut), holding regular admin elections makes very little sense.--Johannes Rohr 21:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

Aromanian Wikipedia

I request admin acces.

The Aromanian wikipedia is oftenly vandalised and there seems to be no admins present, to block vandalisers and to protect some pages. I've developed recenty a work of reorganising the pages and it is quite uncomfortable to work in vain.

I am a at Romanian Wikipedia as well as the English and Aromanian one. The latter also with 86.125.115.123 IP.

When you come and do repeated POV changes in original pages there is a problem (called vandalism). I don't care if you do it 100 times. That is not a constructive mode to build that wp. I don't know some words in aromanian but I can fully understand the texts (obviously,. I'm a romanian) and it will be no problem to use it. Plus, that is Aromanian wikipedia. Not vlach or other nicknames. Example of vandalism: [4] Still, the macedonian constitution speak about Macedonian language, as oficial one. You have been told before, I shall tell you again. There is no such thing as "machedonica" in the Aromanian language. Confirmed by a native speaker. Aromanians call that language vurgãreashce, and call the language of Bulgaria vurgarica (I'm suprised you're not trying to impose the Romanian bulgară word for that as well). Aren't Aromanians entitled to their own vocabulary??? Only foreign Romanian words must be used. Exactly what is copyrighted? There are many articles about Star Trek, including within Wikipedia, including about the Klingon language. Do they too fall foul of copyright? All editors of all Wiktionaries use dictionaries. We are just doing the same thing. Consider a scientist who devises a new chemical, coins a word for it and publishes his method. His published work is copyright and can’t be copied, but the new word is not copyright and could be included in any dictionary without attribution or threat of legal sanction. This is a resubmission of my earlier request. We now have had a local request page, clearly linked from our main page, for over a week.

There are currently no sysops (other then Brion) and no bureaucrats on this project. Without a local sysop our site is exposed to vandalism and spam.

It's not possible to copyright either words or grammar. For example, there seems to be no issue with words such as Muggle or articles such as Klingon. Even Google approves. Jonathan Webley 14:38, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Temporary desysoping an admin on the french Wikipédia

Further to this decision of the Arbitration Committee of the french Wikipedia taken today, it has been decided that the sysop rights of Manchot were to be suspended for a duration of two weeks.

We could of course ask to the relevant sysop to just not make any use of its sysop rights for that period, but we would prefer that his sysop rights be actually suspended. Did I give you sufficient information to take this demand into account?

Can you take care of this? Can you suspend its sysop rights on the franch wikipedia as from for instance tomorrow, 6th March starting 01:00 am (i.e. now), and give the rights back 2 weeks later, on the 20th of March at 01:00 am ? I requested a week because I thought nobody would grant permission until Monday (can only work on weekends with other wikis). However, since it was done this fast, I was able to clear the backlog, delete some empty articles, and create the protected titles page. Fake accounts on several wikies

Someone (probably using openproxies, in order not to be traced back, which could be interesting to be checked anyway) is creating several fake accounts on several wikies in my name with the purpose of provoking, vandalizing pages and to troll around. So far, I have found three of them made on wikies other than the italian one, where I am an admin:

There might be others, or they might be created shortly. At the moment I have legitimate accounts on commonswiki, eswiki, itwikinews, itwikisource and itwiki.
