We greatly appreciate your participation in this survey. With your help, we hope to advance the current understanding of Wikipedia contributor motivations towards a more comprehensive model that accounts for unique motivations as they relate to particular activities on Wikipedia. Our hope is to contribute our findings to the larger conversation of how to attract and retain new users to different facets of Wikipedia.

We are interested in learning about your activities as a contributor over the past month. We include the following examples in our definition of contribution.

  • Conducting research to imrpove/create an article
  • Engaging in talk page discussions regarding article development
  • Adding text, picture, or references to articles
  • Reverting vandalism
  • Patrolling new pages
  • Participating in conversations on IRC chat channels
  • Participating in chapter activities or local meet-ups
  • Participating in outreach or Campus Ambassador activities
  • Attending to request for comments/arbitration/noticeboards

We greatly appreciate your taking the time to complete this survey and we look forward to sharing our findings with the Wikipedia community in the near future.

Thank you!
