Post-survey edit patterns[edit]

Cool survey. Useful to know that the proportions of new editors who want to create new articles vs. edit existing ones are about even. I would have guessed there were more article-creators. Do you intend to look at retention rates for these two groups? I suspect that newcomers who sign up because they want to create a specific article drop off quicker than those who are more interested in general editing from the start... but that's just suspicioning. Also, some task suggestion strategies might be more effective at engaging one group than the other. I'd love to get your thoughts & hear your plans. I can't actually track the users from this survey, as we didn't collect any usernames or IPs. People have inspected the difference in retention rates for article creators vs. other editors in the past though, see the chart Howie made of that data from February 2010 (the entire month's data). Ooh, nice chart. Thanks. I suspected as much re: usernames. Any next steps for this experiment? Cheers, 97.113.114.158 23:14, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
