This is quite wrong. 10,000 mainspace edits is wildly inaccurate as is also the need to be well known by the community and/or 'regular' voters. The voters are in fact largely a transient pool of people as previously demonstrated by our own structured research. See also Advice for RfA candidates which I wrote in 2011 and is still today the most visited and cited advice for wannabe admins.
