SAU WikiClub

SAU WikiClub (Bengali: শেকৃবি উইকিক্লাব) is a Wikimedia–oriented club established at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Bangladesh. . The club is a non-political, non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to the practice and promotion of free knowledge.

Goals and Objectives

To engage university students in contributing to the Bengali Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects.
To engage them to translate academic course-related content from English projects to Bengali projects.
To promote the concepts of free knowledge, free software, and open culture, and to foster leadership based on these values.
To enhance students’ understanding of copyright law, copyright, public domain, Creative Commons, and related topics.
To organize training programs, workshops, seminars, photo walks, edit-a-thons, and other activities centered around Wikimedia projects.
To provide proper guidance to university students for participating in edit-a-thons and competitions organized in various Wikimedia projects.
