SheSaid in Gungbe 2025
Appearance

Welcome to the project page for SheSaid in Gungbe 2025. This initiative is part of the SheSaid Campaign organized globally by Wiki Loves Women, focused on improving the visibility of women through Wikiquote. The Gungbe-language campaign supports this global mission by increasing quotes by and about notable women in the Gungbe Wikiquote.
Goals
[edit]This project addresses the gender and language content gap by:
- Adding quotes by notable women, especially African women, to Gungbe Wikiquote.
- Translating quotes of women from other languages into Gungbe.
- Training new editors (especially women in Badagry) to contribute meaningfully to Wikiquote.
- Establishing sustainable editing communities with mentorship and community support.
Activities
[edit]The campaign includes:
- Outreach and mobilization of Gungbe-speaking communities.
- Collection and translation of quotes by women from books, media, and other Wikiquotes.
- A 5-day training and edit-a-thon event in Badagry, Lagos.
- Post-event mentoring and monthly community meetups to retain contributors.
