Indic MediaWiki Developers User Group (also known as Indic-TechCom) is organizing a dedicated workshop series from June to December 2025. Building on the goals of the Small wiki toolkits program, this initiative aims to empower smaller Wikimedia projects by strengthening their technical capabilities and infrastructure. It is designed to impart basic to intermediate-level technical skills to volunteers contributing to Wikimedia projects. The series will feature four interactive, hands-on workshops covering key areas such as Wikidata, Phabricator, Gadgets, and collaborative discussions on the unique needs and challenges faced by small wikis.
In 2020, Indic-TechCom, in collaboration with WMF’s Developer Advocacy team, designed and conducted the SWT Indic Workshop Series 2020. These workshops were well-received by community members and proved helpful in strengthening their technical skills and supporting the growth of their wiki communities. Building on the positive impact of the 2020 series and further workshop series, we are organizing a new round of workshops in 2025 with the continued goal of supporting and empowering Wikimedia volunteers in strengthening the technical capacity of small wikis.
