Friendly space policy for Wikimedia Foundation social media[edit]

The Wikipedia and Wikimedia Foundation social media accounts are an extension of our ecosystem of global contributors to free knowledge! To maintain a harassment-free online space, we enforce the Wikimedia Foundation’s friendly space policy and the Wikimedia movement's Universal Code of Conduct. When you join us in conversations on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other social channels, please respect the first two tenets of the Universal Code of Conduct:

  1. Treat each other with mutual respect.
  2. Strive toward the behaviors of civility, collegiality, mutual support and good citizenship.

We do not tolerate any form of harassment, which includes any behaviour intended primarily to intimidate, outrage, or upset. We also do not tolerate any behaviour where this would reasonably be considered the most likely main outcome. This includes (but is not limited to) offensive comments or imagery related to gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, physical appearance, age, race, ethnicity, political affiliation, national origin, or religion. This also includes insults, threats, and trolling.

Any comments, direct messages, images, or other communications found in violation by Wikimedia Foundation staff will be hidden or deleted, and offenders may be blocked from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Foundation social media accounts.
