South Asia Regional Virtual Prioritization Workshops/Report

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

How it all started[edit]

The initial idea of organizing South Asia Regional Virtual Prioritization Workshops began after the South Asia Movement Strategy Call.

What was felt that to reach out to more community members in the region we need to organize Virtual Prioritization Workshops in local languages and rather vividly explain 10 Wikimedia movement recommendations while building a sense of regional identity and collaboration. We decided to give everyone time to go through the recommendations and have multiple discussions to choose the recommendations one need locally and for the global stage.

From November 11th, 2020 till November 27th, we able to conduct 5 Virtual Prioritization Workshops in local languages in South Asia region, having community members participation from India, Bangladesh and Nepal. We were able to present an overview of the 10 recommendations with new and experienced community contributors and were successfully able to brainstorm and discuss the same.
