Global bot requests

Global Bot status for TinucherianBot II

I would like a global bot flag for my bot, TinucherianBot II. I am an experienced user and bot operator who also runs another bot TinucherianBot with 85k edits in en.wiki. TinucherianBot II works on interwiki linking and have been granted bot flag on en,ml and simple wikis.Thank you! Tinucherian 02:30, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I'm inclined to grant the flag but for some reason I'm not able to... I'm a Steward but don't have access to do this? Odd. --Daniel Mayer 16:33, 8 November 2008 (UTC)
Yes check.svg Done. Daniel, I am sure of your being a steward, but unable to change membership? It looks odd to me, too.--Jusjih 22:17, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Global Bot status for Gerakibot

I would like a global bot flag for my bot. Except for elwiki my bot is only managing interwikis and is running since 2006. I've been granted bot flag on 14 wikis (including en, fr, de, pt and es). --Geraki TL 16:28, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

What was the problem on plwiki? Why was the bot flag rejected there? --Thogo (talk) 13:09, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
The reasoning was "Bot involved in too few projects". :) —Geraki TL 12:45, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
Done. —Pathoschild 22:01:31, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Global bot status for DragonBot

DragonBot has been operating as an interwiki bot for over a year now, on 60+ wikis and has made over 210,000+ edits. I would like to operate it on small wikis as well once I get global bot flag. In ml.wiki and ml.wikt, DragonBot has import rights and does other bot jobs as well. There is a bot on pms.wiki under the name DragonBot but that's not owned by me.

Global bot status for KhanBot

KhanBot has been running for a little more than six months and has a bot flag on 14 wikipedias (en, nn, no, sv, da, is, fr, de, nl, es, fi, pt, it and ja). The user name KhanBot is reserved globally for my bot through SUL.

Bot status requests

What's with Budelberger's oppose—why did he do that? (I'd nevertheless grant this flag.) Regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:58, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Only oppose came from an indef banned user on fr.wikipedia. Even though this is another wiki, I'm inclined to assume fr.wikipedia had good reason to do so and therefore we needn't give much weight to the oppose. I therefore granted the bot flag. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 17:18, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Time2wait.svg On hold. The only Bureaucrat wikt:tr:Kullanıcı:Dbl2010 is inactive there after 2008-07-05. I am emailing him to remind first.--Jusjih 00:23, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
Did he respond? Otherwise I'd grant the flag. Regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 19:39, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Crat still inactive. No apparent response. I set the bot flag. --Daniel Mayer 16:55, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

DragonBot has a global bot status now, so a flag is probably not necessary anymore.--Shanel 19:10, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Edits from Global bots are visible in wikis that doesn't permit Global bots from operating. --Jacob 21:30, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I'm active user in ko.wp. ko.wp does not accept automatic approval, so you should wait bureaucrats' decision. If you want to run your bot with a flag, you may request global bot status. ko.wp allowed global bots.--Kwj2772 11:10, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

ArthurBot, DirlBot and StigBot @bewikipedia

There are several bot approval requests and no bureaucrats on this wiki. Could you please have a look at them? Thank you! Regards, Mercy 11:04, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

  • Is it not better to upgrade to global bot policy Carsrac 22:00, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
Hello, either wait if they want to implement global bot policy or if not or if they don't want to implement, please specify which bots You want to request flag for, the page is huge, and how should we know which one already has botflag, I won't go checking every single account.
Thanks, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:41, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Ok, I've specified the names. It's the last three approval requests on that page. --Mercy 08:50, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Removal of bot status

Bots@pdcwikipedia

The following discussion is closed.

None of the mentioned bots behaved irregular or abusive. However, since these bots are global bots a local botflag is technically not longer needed for them to behave as before. pdc backs all global decisions on bots without question. Please remove local bot flag only. --Marbot 22:28, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Removing the botflag would not have any effect and only giving more work for the stewards. Carsrac 15:14, 17 November 2008 (UTC)
Please dont deflag these bots, thank you. Multichill 15:55, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello, I see no point in removing the flags now, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 03:47, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks to all for your answers. I am wondering what took you so long to say that you do not like to do it without giving a reason apart from that it would not change anything. Best regards --Marbot 17:55, 24 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello, the reasons are pretty simple:
  1. global bots are for interwiki only, maybe some of them got botflag for another reason
  2. it does not change anything but is an unneccessary workload (imaginge we should remove all botflags of global botusers everywhere they are activated)
  3. there had been an answer already and there were more important requests that needed attention first.
Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 17:59, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
