Requests for global rollback permissions

Global rollback for Babylonian Armor

The following request is closed.

I have an extensive history of reverting vandalism on English Wikipedia, and I wish to use Global Rollbacker rights on other projects to complete the mission of delivering knowledge (whether it be on french wikipedia, or hungarian wikiquote). I am trying to build my cross-project portfolio right now, and as I said, Global Rollbacker would be awesome for what I am trying to accomplish!

  • Sorry, but you don't have enough edits or experience. While your offer to help is much appreciated, we really look for people with months of reverting vandalism at multiple small wikis. Additionally, you should build up tenure before requesting global rollback. Please reapply in some months when you have more experience. Regards, –Juliancolton | Talk 03:52, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
  • Oppose Oppose Sorry but global rollback is for those active in countering vandalism/spam across many projects through some time (see global rollback). Looking at you edits I do not see a need for the tool right now. — Dferg (talk) 19:39, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

Global rollback for Gaeser

The following request is closed.

Hello, I would like to get global rollback. Since last time I am active at SWMT, have rollback and editor rights, and I was the sysop of Georgian wikipedia. Regards, --Gaeser 17:20, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Support Support Gaeser has rollback rights at ru-wiki since september, 2009, so he has enough experience reverting vandalism and I think he can be trusted to use global rollback correctly. –BruTe talk 17:45, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

  • Comment Comment Why are you not longer sysop on kawiki? --თოგო (D) 23:39, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
    • Ka wiki used to take too much time. More, than English,Russian, Commons and Meta together. Also,I think that did my job in ka wiki - updated commons, vector.js and css, created some new gadgets. :)--Gaeser 18:42, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Global IP block exempt for Fire in the Hole

I'm gonna use this account when on school or public places, I know my school is blocked at some wikis, and this could be useful when editing here, thanks in advance, --MisterWiki 22:56, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done --Jyothis 04:14, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused: Aren't school IPs usually blocked with the option "Block anonymous users only"? I thought that IP block exempt was mainly for users who have to use open proxys. --Church of emacs talk · contrib 11:36, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Mhh, the global flag just bypasses global blocks. The flag doesn't help with local blocks if I remember correctly. I'm not sure if the flag's needed here. Barras talk 20:24, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Exactly. I think it should be removed. Pmlineditor  17:05, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

What wiki has blocked your school? For instance, enwiki blocking your school is no reason since you're blocked on enwiki. es:Drini 17:10, 26 March 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure really, but all the schools in the region have the same IP. I don't know if that is considered a global proxy and has been already locked. --MisterWiki 23:58, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
If the IP is not globally blocked but locally blocked this permission will do nothing since it's designed only to circunvent global blocks. So if your school IP is locally blocked you'll need to request local IP block exemptions on the individual projects. Regards, — Dferg (talk) 00:04, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
Any update/decision on this? Pmlineditor  08:28, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

I've removed it, for the reason explained by Barras.  — mikelifeguard@meta:~$  00:30, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
