Requests for global rollback permissions

Global rollback for Tegel

Hi. Since 5 month I'm part of SWMT and I can often be found on cvn-sw and wikimedia-stewards. To make my job easier when I'm monitoring the small wikis and follow cross-wiki vandals I now ask for permission as Global Rollback. I have been an Administrator on for the last 2 years and a bureaucrat for 8 month with vandal fighting and other maintenance work as my main contribution. -- Tegel (Talk) 22:40, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Bencmq

Hi all, I wish to apply for global rollback rights to help revert vandalism. Being an ex-sysop I understand that it should only be used to revert obvious cases. I usually hang around on #cvn-sw and #cvn-zh-scan. Here are several edits I picked from today. [1] [2] [3] [4]. I hope I can be given the tool so that it is easier to revert vandalism quick, to get ride of the compulsory preview or captcha, or when there are no one around to help stop them. Regards. Wow, that was a fast decision. The guideline on this page states: "The request will be approved if consensus to do so exists after a short period of consideration (typically 5 days). This is not a vote, and all input is welcome." Wouldn't it have been a better idea to leave this open for some days at least so that the community gets a chance to participate. My comment is not a reflection on the candidate's suitability, but rather on the fast closure. Personally, I'd suggest this closure is reviewed so that the community gets a fair chance to voice their opinion. Regards, Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 13:02, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Pmlineditor, just one support vote is not enough for GR. Vibhijain 13:04, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I was just saying is this too fast and then I got edit conflict (twice ah!). If a steward wishes they can have the right removed first. I will not be using it atm. --Bencmq 13:06, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Removed. Not that I don't trust you, but I think everybody will agree with me that following policy is an important thing everywhere. Regards and good luck. -- Dferg ☎ talk 13:25, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support Although he was granted the right extremely fast, I support this request. Trijnstel 13:13, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • serious doubt - the request was done and granted just over an hour later from a colleague from the same home wiki. I feel uncomfortable with this and hope there can be some enlightenment first. MoiraMoira 13:42, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hi, just to clarify that I did not contact Shizhao in any way to ask him to process my request - I did not contact him at all if that is your concern. I think he just saw my edit and wanted to help, maybe because he saw the request above and thought the requests are all processed quickly... maybe. I was not expecting this as well. --Bencmq 15:06, 28 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Toto Azéro

Hi everybody ! I'd like to apply for global rollback rights so that I'll be able to revert more easily vandalism… I'm in the SWMT since a few weeks, and I think I'm pretty active in monitoring small wikis… I can be found on several channels such as cvn-sw, cvn-meta, wikimedia-stewards, wikimedia-gs, etc. I've been a sysop in frwiki for 2 months. I understand that global rollback must be used only in obvious vandalism cases… Toto Azéro follow the guide ! 07:23, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Mathonius

Hello, I'd like to request global rollback privileges. On June 23th 2011, I joined the Small Wiki Monitoring Team and I've been actively participating in cross-wiki countervandalism since. I fight vandalism on small wiki's,,, and - of course - As a sysop on (since October 2010), I'm used to this feature and I know how to properly use it. I also have rollback privileges on and I believe that global rollback would help me, because it makes reverting quicker and easier. Yours sincerely, Mathonius 05:01, 4 July 2011 (UTC) [reply]

Requests for global sysop permissions

Global sysop for Liliana-60

I am requesting global sysop rights for myself. Now, as some of you may know, I already had global sysop rights under my old name Prince Kassad. The reason I'm re-requesting it is actually pretty simple: my global acocunt, and thus the global sysop bit, got lost in the process of renaming, so it will need to be reassigned to me.

I've done lots of global counter-vandalism work in the past, and would like to continue with this should I regain my rights. (Is another vote needed for this?) -- Liliana 15:22, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Uncontroversial removal of the gs bit, should be able to get it back without the vote. But, if that doesn't work out, support. Ajraddatz (Talk) 15:23, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Done - No need for an extra vote as the right got lost in the renaming process. Should be back now. -Barras 15:37, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global sysop for Savh

I'm here to request the global sysop flag. I have been active at the SWMT for over half a year, and I have helped as a global rollbacker for nearly five months, reverting vandalism and spam on many different wikis. I have experience using the admin tools here on meta and on es.wikipedia, my home wiki. Global sysop tools would help me to delete clear vandalic pages, like those that I've been tagging with the delete-template in the past. On top, it could be helpful to block some persistent vandals that do not react to warnings. I speak both Dutch and Spanish fluently, and I also speak French and German basically. I understand other regional Spanish and Dutch/Belgian languages, such as Asturianu and Flemish. Please don't doubt to ask me any questions. Thanks, Savhñ 11:00, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks to all for your support. Savhñ 07:56, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requests for global editinterface permissions

Requests for global IP block exemption

Global IP block exempt for HenryXVII

I request Global IP permission because of that I sometimes cannot visit Wikipedia or some certain articles (probably due to the Great FireWall in China or the instability of the network) and have to use some software such as Freegate. By that I can visit Wikipedia fluently, but when I try to edit English Wikipedia articles, I would be blocked for "open proxy". If I quit Freegate, there would be no "open proxy" but I would still have problems visiting Wikipedia, not to mention editing them. So I want to request a Global IP permission to solve the problems above. Thanks, --HenryXVII 08:04, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a valid reason in my opinion, but you may just request local one on enwiki. If no opposes raise in few days, I'll grant the flag. Matanya 10:43, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am Chinese and know some English but very little other languages, so whether to request IP block exempt for other languages does not seem so necessary to me.HenryXVII 18:48, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I assigned you local IP-block-exempt right on enwiki. Ruslik 18:20, 19 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global IP block exempt for Norrin_strange

Hi. Some time ago, User:Shizhao block me (or my IP, my knowings related to computers are very poor) in the computer where I was working there. The connection was some of Jazztel, but few days later I stopped using it because I changed my place of residence (I change it at least a couple of times per year), so I didn't request the removal of the blockade. Now I'm in vacation period, sometimes I use my own computer and sometimes my dad's one. I had no problems until today, when I found that again I was blocked by Shizhao. So I request the removal of the blockade whem I'm logged in, thanks, --Norrin strange 12:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global exemptions are done for people whose IPs are blocked by countries or the like. In you case, it sounds as if you have a local issue with your local wikimedia project. Please take it up with them first. Thank you. -- Avi 00:52, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
