Requests for global rollback permissions

Global rollback for Frigotoni

Hi everybody. Since I'm active on #cvn-swconnect almost every day, I now ask for Global Rollback, because I think that it could help me on revert vandalism and spam link. I understand that the tool must be used only in obvious vandalism cases. Lots of users suggested me to ask for this tool recently, but I wanted to wait some more. This is my crossactivity; you can see that, the projects where I’ve already had the local rollback flag (id est the wikis where I’m used to reverting vandalism through RecentChanges, these mainly are Simple, En, Es and Pt). I want to say that if you give me the toll, I will use it mostly in small wikis with SWMT channel. Please feel free to tell me whatever you want. Thank you for your time.--Frigotoni ...i'm here; 17:04, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know that you feel that the issues are strong enough to close, but isn't that for the community to decide? I'd request that you reopen this until the user withdraws or five days is complete. That sockpuppetry happened over a year ago, and so long as the user respects the GR policy and doesn't use GR on it.wikipedia I don't see a problem here. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. We don't need sockers with global rights. Seb az86556 19:39, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Katarighe

The following request is closed: not done Please do not modify it. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

I would like to use this tool because, I combat vandalism across all Wikimedia wiki's. Sometimes, its hard to find a vandalism on other lauguages, mostly on enwiki and simplewiki and also i'm a trustful user and im not abusive to others.

  • Oppose: you have too little crosswiki experience, in my opinion, and it feels to me like you're just collecting hats. Please gain more experience and perhaps - after a while - request this flag when you really need it. Kind regards, Mathonius 22:27, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Comment I couldn't see heavy use of revert on many wikis in your cross-wiki edits. You can monitor many small wikis through #cvn-swconnect. Finding vandalism is not hard when you know the pattern of those edits (page blanking, insertion of nonsense or gibberish into pages, removal of interwikis or categories etc.) and you use machine translation for the languages you don't speak. Good luck! Striker talk 22:30, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose strong no! Sorry, but I don't recognize you from simplewiki at all and it's my home wiki. On top of that, your xwiki contribs do not meet my criteria for support. • Weak oppose. Maybe I am the only one, but I don't see this user as "active in cross-wiki countervandalism" and he doesn't "make heavy use of revert on many wikis" after checking cross-wiki edits. Outside of major and Spanish wikis, I see some interwiki fixing, edits on userpage or related with his bot, but very few antivandalism-related edits. Per policy, some evidence of this activity should be provided on this request. • Neutral. The first thing I would like to make clear is that I trust Ezarate, however, I don't see myself able to support him due to his lack of cross-wiki experience. In what I see in his global contribs, he has mostly undone the edits of two spamming IP's on the article of FIFA cross-wiki. This, however, doesn't prove he is able to work in multilingual wikis. Through his other contribs, I have found undo's such as this one. It is quite clear that the user wants to remove the hidden English translation, as the article is already translated. Another example is frwikiquote, where he undid the edits of an IP removing a non-exitant template. A GR should be more careful when using his rollback tool, and verify he has reverted correctly. My last concern is, that even though the long-time activity on his home projects, he only really has been active in the SWMT since 7 october. I don't think it is possible to judge if a user will use tool correctly on a less than three days activity basis. I'd be happy to support later, when more experience is acquired. Suerte, Savhñ 12:56, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes check.svg Done First, there is a clear consensus that Ezarate can be trusted with the global rollback tool. Second, while he has an extensive cross-wiki experience (including adminship on Commons – a multilingual project), it is primarily not in the area of counter-vandalism or anti-spam activity. Several participants of this discussion opposed based on the latter criterion. Nevertheless, overall consensus seems to be that Ezarate should be given a chance to demonstrate that he is capable of using global rollback responsibly, by giving him this tool. Global rollback for Reder

I would like GR rights to revert more easily vandalisms and wrong edits. I monitor #cvn-swconnect if I can every day and I'm a member of SWMT. I have more than 14000 edits globally, and I work in many wikis. My home wiki is the Tarantino wiki where I'm admin and where I have almost 10000 edits. I'm an admin also in some little wikis where I help to fight vandalism where there are no active communities. I'm also a test-admin on Incubator and an autopatroller user on Meta. I thank you for your consideration. --Reder 10:51, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global rollback for Iste Praetor

Hello! I often combat vandalism on a lot of small wikis via IRC, where global rollback would help me in many situations like reverting the edits of this persistent vandal. It would also be useful for me to fight vandalism on French Wikipedia because there is no local flag available. On German and English Wikipedia, I already have rollback rights. Regards --Iste () 16:00, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose No, sorry I appreciate your help, but this is just too soon for me. Please continue with your good work - the next time I'll probably support your request. Trijnstel 18:04, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I will continue fighting vandalism and make a new request later. Regards --Iste () 18:39, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Global editinterface for SPQRobin

I have global sysop rights, but I need to fix some CSS issues on common.css pages (mostly concerning the 1.18 upgrade and RTL support), and mostly on wikis that have opted-out of the global sysop system, so it would be useful to have global editinterface rights. If it's only temporarily given, it's okay to remove this right later, although it's difficult to say when most issues are fixed. SPQRobin (talk) 19:48, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
