Wikipedia namespace pages on biwiki

Status:    Done

There are some pages in the Wikipedia namespace on biwiki which look like someone copied and pasted HTML from some special pages. As far as I can tell, many of the pages listed don't actually exist. The pages were apparently created in 2004 and haven't been edited since. The pages are protected which means I can't add {{delete}} to them, so I'm requesting deletion here. The pages:

Move edit history of en:World Trade Center

Status:    In progress

Pursuant to community consensus, en:World Trade Center has been split into en:World Trade Center (1973–2001) and en:World Trade Center (2001–present); however, the split was done by cut and paste, and the title is slated to become a disambiguation page. Please move the existing extensive edit history of en:World Trade Center to en:World Trade Center (1973–2001). Cheers! BD2412 T 00:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

As I can see from the discussion World Trade Center's history should not actually be merged with World Trade Center (1973–2001)'s history. Ruslik (talk) 19:34, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
It seems the discussion carried on after I thought it had ended. As it stands, we have ten years of history for the now-split building articles at the title now hosting the disambiguation page. I suppose if there is no agreement as to where that history should go, it will stay where it is. BD2412 T 21:58, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

semi-protect Main Talk Page on Interlingua Wiktionary

Moved from Stewards' noticeboard.--Syum90 (talk) 14:55, 13 August 2015 (UTC)
Status:    Done

Hello, Could someone semi-protect this talk page since it has been spammed many times for at least two years and a half (and no other useful contributions occurred, as you can see in the history). This is a small wiki and admins are sparingly available. Thank you. 14:26, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done Semiprotected for 1 year.--Syum90 (talk) 14:57, 13 August 2015 (UTC), requests

Status:    Done

At [] there are requests for words which should be added. Some of those requests got fulfilled, so please remove the words mentioned at [].
Maybe it would be better to replace "Rogatus", "Per thema", "Nexus rari", "Describendae" by link to a page like [] which can be edited by everyone. A Latin name could be [] ("Wiktionary:Requests").
Also I'd like to repeat this request: [] (the one entry now in the deletion category was a miscreated user page and no Wiktionary word entry; deletion category: []).
Thanks for the fulfilment of the last request and thanks in advance regarding this request. - 15:20, 5 March 2015 (UTC)

I've updated MediaWiki:Recentchangestext, but I'm not sure about the second part of the request, I think that should be done by a Latin speaker. Matiia (talk) 20:51, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

Broken styles on pswiki

Status:    Done

As reported on my talk page:

on Pashto Wikipedia there are several problems i.e. The Navboxes are not appearing (see example) and Infoboxes has also technical problems (see example). So therefore please copy the data from this page and paste it into ps:Mediawiki:common.css.Please do it as soon as possible, its very important because all the navbox and infobox are not appearing correctly.--UsmanKhan (talk) 03:51, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Pathoschild 03:55, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Before re-adding, can someone please go through that code and fix it? It was causing quite a few problems, including making text quite a bit larger and breaking some pages (that I saw anyway). Ajraddatz (talk) 04:19, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

There are some old redirects in the main namespace hanging around from the addition of a namespace years ago, see [1] for the titles. These should all get cleaned up. There are two admins there but a bit sparse during the late summer. -- ArielGlenn (talk) 13:04, 20 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi ArielGlenn, I see Ah3kal is somewhat active. However, which is the list of pages that need deletion? I see various tables in the Phabricator ticket, all of them? Maybe we can go with a bot and have them deleted, or make you a temporary sysop there for technical reasons and have you delete them yourself :-) Best regards. —MarcoAurelio 10:26, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
ArielGlenn I cannot work out which are to be deleted, probably worth applying for short term administration, or providing a wikilink'd list here.  — billinghurst sDrewth 13:00, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
@Billinghurst and ArielGlenn: I'd favor temporary administration. I've tried to get answers in the Phabricator ticket, and I can not understand which pages really need deletion. Thanks. —MarcoAurelio 13:27, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
@Billinghurst and ArielGlenn:: Billinghurst, now that I see, temporary administration won't be needed as Ariel can use his sysadmin/staff account AGlenn (WMF) so he can do it himself. —MarcoAurelio 22:21, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Use of staff accounts is usually not the practice for volunteer activities/decisions, though it could be used if approved by the community. I can work with a clear list.  — billinghurst sDrewth 00:22, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
IMHO it is a tech fixing task for which sysadmin global rights are appropriate to use (which his account has along with staff rights). —MarcoAurelio 12:10, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

History merge of enwp article with large history

Status:    Locally handled

Hi Stewards. The first three revisions of en:Louisville need to be history merged with en:Louisville, Kentucky to fix a 13-year-old cut-and-paste move. I'd do it myself, but the article has over 5,000 revisions. Could one of you assist? Cheers. — Scott talk 00:13, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Why only the first three revisions? That would need an import, no? [Besides, does anyone really care for what is in the revision history for 2001?] --MF-W 01:11, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
"Louisville, Kentucky" was created by a cut-and-paste move from "Louisville" on 21 June 2002. The three edits before that should be part of the history of "Louisville". I've performed history merges of this type numerous times.
Does anyone really care? Yes, quite a few people care about maintaining a coherent content history. Have a look at the work of en:User:Graham87 for an example of just how seriously it's possible to take it.
Thanks, — Scott talk 02:47, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
Can't it be done through w:Special:MergeHistory? —MarcoAurelio 10:36, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
You can also perform this merge by moving Louisville, Kentucky to Louisville, restoring necessary revisions and moving it back to Louisville, Kentucky. Ruslik (talk) 12:00, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
Oh! Of course you can, it doesn't matter which direction you do it in. Sorry, that was clearly a late-at-night error. Thanks Ruslik! — Scott talk 23:05, 23 August 2015 (UTC)
