Manual requests

Delete of my user page on cs.wiktionary

Status:    Not done

Please, delete my user page on cs.wiktionary. --Pepa je nej (talk) 18:07, 30 December 2016 (UTC)

@Pepa je nej: Hi, there are two active admins there so, as you have already tagged your page for deletion, you should wait until one of these local admins delete it. Regards.--Syum90 (talk) 09:30, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
I request they two weeks, but they not react. Sorry for bad english. --Pepa je nej (talk) 09:39, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
@Pepa je nej: have you requested it directly to the local admins on their talk pages?--Syum90 (talk) 09:51, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, 21.21. 2016, I requested all local admins. --Pepa je nej (talk) 10:02, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
@Pepa je nej: have they answered you why they don't delete your userpage? Anyway I can't delete the page because wikt:cs: is not a GS wiki, so you should wait for a steward.--Syum90 (talk) 10:18, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
They didn´t answered me. --Pepa je nej (talk) 10:44, 2 January 2017 (UTC)
Ok, a steward will decide. Regards.--Syum90 (talk) 10:52, 2 January 2017 (UTC)

o @Pepa je nej: Is there any kind of personal, private or sensible information in your userpage for what the page has to be deleted urgently?, otherwise I think no steward will delete the page but probably only will speak with the local admins in order to know why they have not already deleted it. This page is intended to request administrative actions to be performed on wikis with no active administrators, which is not the case of the cs.wiktionary, so if no urgent action is needed you'll probably should wait your userpage to be deleted by a local admin. Regards.--Syum90 (talk) 09:21, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Yes, is urgently. My activiti on cs.wiktionary is end. On my user page had very personally information and i dont want to peoples read it. --Pepa je nej (talk) 17:56, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
@Danny B.: please can you have a look at this?--Syum90 (talk) 08:45, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
One of the admins stated:

Řekl bych, že v době, kdy se diskutuje o tom, zda by Vám mělo být zakázano editovat, je v komunitním zájmu, aby byly dané informace takto dostupné. Pokud je tam něco osobního a citlivého, co o sobě neříkáte i jinde a já to přehlédl, zkuste mne, prosím, diskrétně upozornit mejlem.

(≈ I'd say that in the time when there is a discussion about forbidding you editing is in the community interest to have such information accessible this way. If there is something personal and sensitive there, what you don't say about yourself also on other places and I missed that, try to contact me discretely by email.)

The rest of the talk is that mail has been sent and confirmation of its delivery.
HTH.
Danny B. 08:58, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
This is a local decision. No action from us needed. Savhñ 09:41, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Ok, thanks Danny B. and Savh.--Syum90 (talk) 09:47, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Import from testwiki to map-bms wiki

Status:    Not done

list page testwiki:MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.js

testwiki:MediaWiki:Gadget-TwinkleTest.js
testwiki:MediaWiki:Gadget-morebits.css

yes it only new revisions. Testing some gadget for map-bmswiki. ThanksMurbaut (talk) 23:21, 17 November 2016 (UTC)

Why is this necessary? And why do the last two pages not exist? --MF-W 00:14, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
This request was posted originally on SRP (with a change of header). I think is not necessary, but the administrator rights has import transwiki? access. You are admin on map-bmswiki and you can import these pages. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 00:51, 18 November 2016 (UTC).
No, transwiki is not enabled on map-bmswiki. --Vogone (talk) 01:24, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
@MF-Warburg: Yes I'm the gadget development, I want to test at there. Murbaut (talk) 12:03, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for fixing the link to the last 2 pages. However, you shouldn't test in production. --MF-W 06:05, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
@MF-Warburg: Why?. I want to know, What is problem be show.

I think this is no problem to import. Murbaut (talk) 07:04, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

technical details
Now I am confused. I've reviewed again and I read the following (in english, because I don't speak in map-bms):
  • Transwiki importers: "Import pages from other wikis (import)"
  • Administrators: "Import pages from other wikis (import)"

Import or Transwiki is not enabled? Because, import access also can import pages from a file upload, administrators and Transwiki importers (map-bmswiki) no, only import pages from other wikis. --Ks-M9 [disc.] 18:16, 18 November 2016 (UTC).

File upload only works with the "importupload" permission. "import" grants access to the transwiki feature. Transwiki however needs specified "import sources", and for map-bms none were defined. This means it is possible for local admins/transwiki importers to visit map-bms:Special:Import, but there will be merely a notice that no import sources were defined. Import sources can be added via phabricator:, though only with community consensus. Regards, --Vogone (talk) 18:44, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
I'm withdrawn :) Murbaut (talk) 01:48, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

Cross-wiki spam on hak.wikipedia.org

Status:    Done

Could the following pages be deleted?

These poor quality stubs were created by the person currently blocked by Steward_requests/Global/2017-01#Global_block_for_2600:8800:3080:8370:0:0:0:0.2F64. Some of them have been recreated after being deleted (probably with exactly the same content, although I can't see the content of the deleted versions). They copy and paste the same text for every person regardless of how accurate it is, e.g. for the Hakka Wikipedia, the text they use describes everyone as a black person and puts them in the African Americans category, which is nearly always factually incorrect. - Nikki (talk) 18:18, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Yes check.svg Done. --Stryn (talk) 18:23, 14 January 2017 (UTC)

Need a 5000+ edit page deleted

Status:    Done

Hey stewards, how's it going? I'm looking at w:User:Mati14569/sandbox (ahem, on the English wiki), which is one of those subpages where folks keep their scores of their fantasy reality games. This was never an article or intended to be used in article space. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 03:59, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

@Drmies: Done, best regards. —MarcoAurelio 14:52, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks Marco! Drmies (talk) 22:45, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Approve "fawiki-editathon" OAuth consumer token

Status:    Not done

Hi, people from Farsi Wikipedia (fawiki) has contacted me to setup a tool to track their edit-a-thon. This tool is basically the same as the one used in Wikipedia Asian Month, with configurations to suit fawiki needs. The project is hosted at Tool Labs. Thanks --Kenrick95 (talk) 14:55, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Please, provide a link to the consumer application. Ruslik (talk) 18:07, 21 July 2016 (UTC)
Go here and then click "Judging" (direct link: https://tools.wmflabs.org/fawiki-editathon/2016-08/judging.php ). Kenrick95 (talk) 16:03, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
Note: if the tool is about to collect user data, please refer to #Request_to_approve_OAuth_consumer_for_Citation_Hunt_v1.0. Thanks. —MarcoAurelio 16:12, 22 July 2016 (UTC)
@Kenrick95: hi. Does your tool collect user data? Matiia (talk) 04:10, 29 October 2016 (UTC)
Ah sorry that I missed all these messages here. I think that I no longer in need of this consumer token. By the way, no, it does not store user's personal information including username. Kenrick95 (talk) 10:51, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
Decline as the requestor said that he no longer needs this consumer approved. —MarcoAurelio 14:54, 22 January 2017 (UTC)

Activating an extension on gd.wp

Status:    Not done

Hello there is a consensus on gd.wp to activate Extension:SandboxLink so that logged in user will have a link to their sandbox in the links in the top right. Would a steward be able to activate this? Richard Nevell (WMUK) (talk) 16:42, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done No, stewards will not be able to activate it. Please, file a request on Phabricator:. Ruslik (talk) 17:51, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

OAuth application

Status:    Done

Per the instructions, this is to notify you a new proposal for consumer LTA Knowledgebase [1.0] is pending review. Thank you for your attention -- samtar talk or stalk 19:26, 25 January 2017 (UTC)

@Samtar: Looks good. Concerned with the consumer being able to see other's email addresses though. @Hoo man and BDavis (WMF): Is that acceptable or should the owner show a privacy disclaimer here? Thanks, —MarcoAurelio 19:43, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
Ideally the application will only store the OAuth token that it gets for a given user when they sign up and then use that token to fetch email addresses as needed for sending notifications. This will allow the user to revoke the grant and prevent further access to the email address. This will also let the tool keep up with email address changes that the user may make on-wiki, so it's really a win-win. --BDavis (WMF) (talk) 20:20, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
@BDavis (WMF): Thanks for the explanation and for taking care of the approval. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio 10:25, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

Mass deletion of autotranslated articles

Status:    Done

Please delete all articles created by User:Nikosgranturismogt in mg.wiki [1] and ceb.wiki. The User used autotranslation without understanding those languages. I talked to the user, and he understood his mistake, consented to deletion, and promised not to do it again [2]. There is no need to take any action against the user, as he has shown that he understands and he certainly means well, having shown to be capable to improve over time and learn from his mistakes. Since there are currently pretty active admins in both wikis (mgwiki, cebwiki), I prefer not to delete the articles myslef. Thank you. --—Ah3kal (talk)

Cross-wiki spam on actors

Status:    Done

Hello! For more than a year some anonymous spamers are spaming some of smaller wikipedias. Unfortunately, it seems sysops didn't notice that. These spamers take a line "American actor, comedian and dancer" in wiki's language and copy-paste it only changing title, birth date and picture. See example in Karakalpak Wikipedia, also, I marked some of these articles in Turkmen Wikipedia, other their targets are ace:, dsb:, frp:, co:, war:, etc. (some larger wikis have their sysops/active users who manage to delete/mark/improve these articles, but smaller ones just get bulked with pointless pages. Hugo.arg (talk) 14:21, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

@Hugo.arg: Thanks for bringing this up, it's been going on for a long time (while investigating I found a chain of similar behaviour going back five years). :( Lots of pages have been deleted but the user often recreates them and they're active on so many wikis and their IP address changes so often that it's hard to keep track of everything they're doing. I think this request is probably too broad and not well defined enough for stewards/global sysops to act on though. If we can make lists of pages which need deleting, that is easier for them to do something about. I've created a request for kaawiki below and I also did a request for hakwiki a few days ago. - Nikki (talk) 23:08, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for bringing this up; since months or probably already years I am blocking this guy's IP globally when I see him and try to clean up the pages he created which were not afterwards changed by local editors. I'll see to doing your request. --MF-W 10:56, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
