Administrator access

Chabi@lfn.wikipedia

Status:    Not done

Hi! Could you please have administrator rights in the LFN Wikipedia for a month or so because nobody has those rights and we need to delete pages and make changes that only administrators can do. Thank you in advance. --Chabi (talk) 08:26, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

@Chabi: please open a local discussion lfn.wikipedia for 7 days, then re-apply again --Alaa :)..! 15:30, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@علاء: We already had a voting for several users to become administrators and none of them have been granted any rights. If those ones who passed the votings are granted administrators rights there is no need for me to be one. Is it possible to give them those rights, please? --Chabi (talk) 19:17, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@Chabi: why they not apply requests here after 7 days? --Alaa :)..! 19:21, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@علاء: Because the only one who knows a bit about how Wikipedia works is me and I didn't even know about that. Shall I tell them to apply here or is it possible to given them rights straight away? --Chabi (talk) 19:23, 10 May 2018 (UTC)
@Chabi: or they think it'll be granted automatically! You can apply requests for all of them here, but you/them should apply separate requests for all of them with link to the above voting page. For recording and history purposes --Alaa :)..! 19:35, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Apologies if I am mistaken but I don't see the user was notified about the removal vote, thus I do not feel confortable handling this. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 13:35, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
On the other hand, the user is listed as inactive at Admin_activity_review/2017/Data#ukwikinews so I'm less concerned. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 14:43, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
A link to a userpage works as a ping and notifies user authomatically, if I don`t mistaken. In the same time we don`t have any policies in Wikinews to notify user in another way. Yes, user was inactive and this was a reason for nomination. --A1 (talk) 15:55, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Unless the user has opted to receive email notification, it only delivers the notification on wiki, so they won't know it unless they visit the wiki. Only authentic way to notify them is leaving a note on user talk (which always trigger email notification, and sending an email if they accept it). — regards, Revi 16:03, 7 April 2018 (UTC)
Could you show me policy that require such type a of user notification for adminship removal? --A1 (talk) 20:17, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
Our standard inactivity rules, Admin Activity Review states they'll be notified of the upcoming desysop ("On wikis where no formal advanced rights review process exists locally, the stewards or their delegates will: ... notify those advanced rights holders who have exceeded the maximum allowed time period for inactivity. Such a notification (notice of maximum inactivity) will be sent as a message to the user's talk page on the wiki where they hold their respective rights.") and are given 1 month to follow up or face desysop. If you have alternative activity rules, you should tell us so we don't process ukwikinews under the standard rules. — regards, Revi 09:35, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
Well, ukwn does not have an activity policy, but there was a vote for removal which is linked here, usually when there is a vote the policy is not relevant any more (even though slightly more people voted in the nomination resulting in her getting the rights). Usually policies are a way to de-flag for inactivity without a vote. Not that it matters, since the month designated ends tomorrow anyway. --Base (talk) 00:38, 13 May 2018 (UTC)
Just to confirm: I contacted Olena off-wiki, and she told me that she did not have energy to fight [for keeping these rights]. Thus I assume she accepted the decision to remove her rights as well — NickK (talk) 09:59, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Hoo man@meta.wikimedia

Hello. Please remove Hoo man's admin access. He didn't make 10 edits, as requested per policy. Matiia (talk) 23:54, 6 May 2018 (UTC)

But I count 10 (and a protection) since 2018-01-11? -- Mentifisto 00:31, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Policy says that edits need to be made before designated removal date (April 1). Matiia (talk) 00:46, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Between 20171001 and 20180401 (local policy is within 6 months, not one year) Hoo man made: 9 "edits" and 11 "administrator actions", plus many other steward actions. Hoo man was also reconfirmed as a steward in March 2018. Meta:Meta–steward_relationship specifically calls out that stewards should honor the local policies as far as being a local admin goes. So yes this is the rule, but the rule seems a bit defective and possibly should be revisited (e.g. changing 10 "edits" to "edits or logged actions"). And if Hoo man applies for adminship tomorrow I really don't see the opposers putting up a good argument. — xaosflux Talk 02:09, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
If the user fails to make 10 edits within the period sysop is removed. Hoo_man unfortunatelly made 9. This is not the place to discuss the policy which I myself would love to see it amended for the benefit of the users and the bureaucrats running this process. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:29, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
I agree, the existing policy says this should be completed as-is. I've started a policy discussion at Meta talk:Administrators, and notably Hoo man has started a new RfA. — xaosflux Talk 11:32, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. The situation in which Hoo man is now is quite ridiculous I'd say. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:35, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
Time2wait.svg On hold until 14 May 2018 Ruslik (talk) 18:52, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
There's no reason to wait. If Hoo man is re-elected, then he will be re-granted the admin flag, but the policy is clear and his access has to be removed for now. Matiia (talk) 19:37, 7 May 2018 (UTC)
See en:WP:IAR. And this especially applies when the rules lead to absurd results. StevenJ81 (talk) 15:06, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
I personally think that if Hoo man has pass his RFA on 14 May, he still can continue be admin on Meta. SA 13 Bro (talk) 15:20, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
I support what @Matiia: said. It should be removed then re-granted if he re-elected, for history and to be recorded --Alaa :)..! 16:18, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Meta:Administrators does not specify when exactly the removal has to take place. The date varied considerably in the past. This year it was delayed by 37 days. So, if it is removed 44 days after the due date (instead of merely 37 days) there will be no meaningful difference. Stewards after all do not always act instantly. Requests can seat many days here before being acted upon. Ruslik (talk) 18:47, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Well this situation is indeed a bit absurd. His RfA is obviously passing for now so we can wait and see at the end what happens. If his RfA fails the bit is removed, if his RfA passes, I'll take care of removing the bit and re-adding it instantly for future reference. Thanks, —MarcoAurelio (talk) 10:26, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

فيصل@arwikiversity

I would like to request temporary adminship for 3 months (that can be extended later) for فيصل (romanized as Faisal). Faisal is a trusted user within Arabic Wikipedia community and he agreed to volunteer to take care of arwikiversity which is flooded with test/spam pages. He is an admin on arwiki as well as a rollbacker on Wikidata. The discussion on arwikiversity is linked above and nobody objected on the nomination of Faisal as admin. Thank you in advance. Hi, on Arabic Wikinews there is no admin now. I suggested myself to other users on the website and I think they're accepting (p.s: this wiki hasn't enough user as we are at most of time two users working on the wiki). So I request a permanent adminship because there are many pages that need to be protected, deleted and many other stuff. Waiting for your answer... سمير تامر (talk) 23:34, 6 October 2017 (UTC)

After reopening nl.wikinews.org we yet had begun with the regulatory procedure, starting from June 29th at 18:00 h CEST = 16:00 h UTC. This procedure yet existed and we did follow the official procedure of 14 days. At 18:00 h CEST Huhbakker was elected administrator (3 support (=100%) - 0 oppose / a minimum support of 75% is requisite). Just for the record, we have rules how adminships end / can be ended. I ask you to grant the permanent administratorship to Huhbakker. The same is valid for me (Ymnes, see here above). Both started at exactly 18:00 h CEST because we made a restart to be sure that the official procedure was followed correctly (Dutch: "herstart" = English: "restart"). Thank you in advance. After reopening nl.wikinews.org I was given temporary "adminship for 2 weeks to deal with stuff that comes up"[1] by MF Warburg. He added: "Please put the adminship requests voted upon by the community". At that very moment we had begun with the regulatory procedure yet, starting from June 29th at 18:00 h CEST = 16:00 h UTC. This procedure yet existed and we did follow the official procedure of 14 days. At 18:00 h CEST I (Ymnes) was elected administrator (3 support (=100%) - 0 oppose / a minimum support of 75% is requisite). Just for the record, we have rules how adminships end / can be ended. I ask you to change my temporary administratorship into a permanent one. During the same procedure, Huhbaker was elected (see here below). Both started at exactly 18:00 h CEST because we made a restart to be sure that the official procedure was followed correctly (Dutch: "herstart" = English: "restart"). Thank you in advance. Ymnes (talk) 17:49, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

So, basically you elected yourselves as administrators. Ruslik (talk) 19:53, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
To be fair:
  • The election started while the wiki was still in Incubator, but after the creation of the wiki was approved by LangCom.
Approximately half of the two-week period occurred after the wiki moved into its own subdomain.
  • The members followed the rules they set up as a community (which as far as I can tell are similar to nlwiki's rules, and stricter than the minimum required by the stewards).
  • The members worked on the wiki seriously in Incubator, and continue to work on it seriously in its own subdomain.
Given the situation, I personally would recommend a six-month starting term, which is at the longer end of usual practice for administrators in new wikis. Once the community becomes a little more established in its own subdomain, you and they can figure out what the proper term should be. But this election is certainly every bit as legitimate as any other RfA in a new subdomain. StevenJ81 (talk) ('crat on Incubator) 20:31, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
What is "a little more established"? 3 regular editors? 10 regular editors? 50 regular editors? The Banner (talk) 21:01, 13 July 2017 (UTC)
The short answer is: if it's 3 regular editors, future administrators will remain temporary. If it's 50, they may become permanent. That's why I say "once it's established, they can decide". It's up to the stewards, not me. StevenJ81 (talk) 21:29, 13 July 2017 (UTC)

I like to add: before Dutch Wikinews went to Incubator, there was an active admin team. In Incubator there was an active admin team. I can imagine when a new community is formed, adminship is temporary. However here it is an existing team that likes to continue, and does not want to be put back in time. There has been an active admin team (not just temporary), so it should be implemented here too. Romaine (talk) 15:58, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
In those years all together 12 moderators (=administrators) and 2 bureaucrats. (see the list here) Ymnes (talk) 16:25, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
There was an active admin team on the wiki at some time in the past: yes, possible. But irrelevant. The wiki would not have been closed if they had been active at the time of the closure. Also, there was no "active admin team" on Incubator. Wn/nl had 0 test-admins. --MF-W 19:20, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
Of course you are. Ubi societas, ibi et ius. I do not dispute that the election happened in accordance with your rules. I also do not understand why Ruslik wrote that comment to which I did not make a reference (as seen by the indentation). I gave you temporary adminship because of our (stewards') policies. --MF-W 19:20, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
But our community has composed rules for our project. Can you please re-look wether you may be held to ours? The current situation doesn't help our project, because we need to be able to appoint bureaucrats and bot bits as well. Ymnes (talk) 20:25, 14 July 2017 (UTC)
@Ymnes: This is normal procedure for a new project or a newly started project. That doesn't make a difference. And whether there are local rules or not doesn't matter either. The only thing that's been looked at is the size of the project, that means how many active users are on it. Right now the Dutch Wikinews is still in it's early days and then we always appoint temporary admins. That doesn't mean you will never become a permanent admin. Just that you need to re-apply after six months; then we will look at it again and see if the community has grown. Right now you have admin rights and can do whatever admins need to do. I'd advice you to focus on creating new articles and establishing a community. Your response that you need to be able to appoint bureaucrats and bot bits as well is nonsense. You don't need to appoint bureaucrats right now; the stewards serve as bureaucrats when a project doesn't yet have any, and they can also add bot bits when needed. The request page for that is SRB. Should you have more questions, do ask please. We're always happy to help. With regards, Trijnsteltalk 12:35, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
I don't talk nonsense when I say that we don't want to be dependent on a foreign language stewart page. People come here from all kind of projects and don't know anything about the project at all. There is activity enough and we are far better off without Meta than with Meta. A lot of instruments overhere don't work so perfectly as they are presented here. Look alone the language committee. But a remark as Ruslik made, is also very untrue, and your statement that our project is new is as well. We have restarted, not started. Yet 3 people are back from then and around 26 people have come to edit in the last 10 days (see here, 10 days because we restarted at 5 July). We are adults. Please let us decide without this English page of Wikimedia. Ymnes (talk) 12:42, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
On a foreign language stewart [sic] page - you know I'm Dutch, so if that's the problem, just approach me. Trijnsteltalk 13:33, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
Well, if you advice to write articles (and to be silent?), I really don't get your point. Being Dutch is just half of the story. Dutch Wikipedians didn't understand the project before the relaunch when it was presented to the language committee. The negativity was even sickening, and that's where we want to stay out. The project has had 12 administrators and 2 bureaucrats before. In the last days it's getting really populated again. What is your point anyway? Is it a matter of losing power of the stewards? Than it's not a fair process... This isn't a new projects here, but an existing one that restarted. We have a set of rules and are being overruled by other language stewards (you just came in). Please stop this arguing and accept that Dutch Wikinews is running again. Ymnes (talk) 14:18, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
And the necessity of more self dependence was not even expressed by me, but are written here by an experienced Wikimedian. The words are "in Dutch", what nearly no-one can read here. Other Wikinewsers do better understand, and even wrote an article on the reopening op Dutch Wikinews[2] Ymnes (talk) 16:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
Like I said: this is normal procedure for any new project or newly started project. It has nothing to do with you or this specific project. And I'm not even going to respond to your insinuation that the stewards might fear that they lose power. As if we're bored. Right. Trijnsteltalk 16:20, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
There are some responses here that I don't like either. And why you write 'new' twice in one sentence, where this is untrue is incomprehensible. The fact that it isn't new, is the case. Are the regulations written down or a kind of common law? It looks like no real argument counts. Ymnes (talk) 16:41, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
Speaking as a former steward who already "lost power": in the past when stewards used to hand out permanent administrative rights to very small / new wikis with little community scrutiny (few voters), quite often the newly elected admins either became inactive after a few months and were never seen again, or it turns out that they started misusing their tools. In both cases it is then hard for stewards, or really anyone, to do anything about it; in the latter scenario, that is why RFC is full of complaints about broken small Wikimedia projects. Temporary adminship gives the community a chance to reevaluate after 6 months. --Rschen7754 17:17, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
The problem of Meta is the lack of affinity with this reopened project. It was revived in the incubator in 2012, in 2016 and again from January 2017. Until the start, two users worked 6 months, one 5 months and one 2 months to revive a news project. The definition of news is that it is old after one week. They all worked in vane during this time, to really understand the eager to restart it. In the last period since the application to get it reopened, it took two full months to produce news of which was known to be old when it would be reopened. The slow mode of the Language Committee took me to motivate two users to stay because they had really had it with the whole system. Don't tell me that quitters are born in the incubator. I know that you didn't say it so cruelly, but all the replies here show a lack of affinity with this project.
Looking back of what happens here at Meta again and again, is to meet the blogging society, like Wikipedians nagging - as if they have a magic glass sphere: "´we know that this is not going to work´" (if you had known him, you would have known he is multi blocked in English and Dutch, and just ruining our appetite). Another one nagging about things that can actually be said about him. Again another one that is hardly there any more on the projects.
Than at the reopening the whole project should be refixed, and gladly after ten days another heavy editor came to help us. Since we have to do it all by ourselves, and still we make it.
Meanwhile the project was edited yet by 26 different users, our articles are being translated to other Wikinews languages and a Amsterdam programmer asked about the possibilities to use the news on organization websites he develops. Be sure, our project is sexy! You don't quit such a thing.
So is it justified that we don't want to be here anymore on Meta. We don't want this negativity around of people that don't know how well it is functioning. 6 frameworks of news, filled on a regular basis, and all kinds of issues other Wikinews editions didn't even think of to bind readers and writers. This is what it is and what has been achieved. No, this project has not been built by quitters.
So far the motivational/emotional plead. But now the rules. I can understand that you hardly see reopened projects, but this Wikinews has its own set rules and they existed when the applications begun for the adminships. Whatever jurisdiction you may have, it doesn't apply here. One can say, why does it matter to apply after six months again...: the answer is just because no-one likes to be overruled by someone that doesn't have the right. Ymnes (talk) 19:23, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
The case is closed and you are welcome back in six month with a new request. If you want to change the practice regarding small wikis and temporary status you are welcome to bring that discussion to a more suitable location. Please don't change the status on closed cases. -- Tegel (Talk) 19:31, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
On the basis of what rules do you decide? They don't exist here, do they?! Ymnes (talk) 19:47, 15 July 2017 (UTC)
Yemnes - Since you seems to be unhappy with this whole process, here is what our handbook advises on this situation "If the wiki has no community, or if it has too few active users to hold a meaningful discussion of the issue, it is probably advisable to grant temporary rather than permanent rights. Three months is a common period for temporary rights.". Here is the section you can read it from. Now, please stop pushing for it and build a good community on the project you have taken upon yourself to maintain. Please do realize that the project is still a wikimedia project and the governance and support that applies to such a project will always apply to your newly built project as well. --Jyothis (talk) 01:15, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
Apparently it's normal to give commands to others over here, but please understand that the willing are not the trolls. The behaviour over here should really change. At least you gave a link to the handbook. Thank you at least for that. Ymnes (talk) 06:48, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

Your comments here is the reason why I need to post out what you have done on different small wikis. Your comments here no doubt that can be used to verify what I have said and show that your comments are of low value to take as a reference. You have raised out that it is a misconduct during handling the deletions of two pages on zh.wikibooks. I have described the contents of that two pages and what the situations were during that time. As an admin, did you handle the case "on time"? Nope. "數字算式寶塔的推廣" which is the page I proposed to delete on 3 Feb 2017. You didn't handle it "on time". Let it be there for a month. Eventually, I needed to delete it by myself. [5] There is no guideline about how long should a RFD last for on zh.wikibooks. You have edited during that period. You're an experienced admin. I do believe that you should have checked the RFD page regularly as an admin. There is no objection on RFD regarding that page. No one can prove that it is not an original research. I don't see any problems regarding that deletion. For the wikibooks page regarding mahjong, I have described the problems of that page also. The problems are still there. Those users are not "new users". They all are actively contributing on zh.wiki. All wikimedia projects share a similar principle. The regulation may be different though. Therefore, they have the ability and eligibility to comment on RFA on other projects, especially the small projects in same language. Just like they have the ability and eligibility to comment on whether a user suitable to be a steward. Isn't it?--J.Wong 12:00, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
We generally discourage users being brought in from other wikis to vote on requests. The local community should be able to decide who is an admin, even if the local community is very small. That said, I see consensus among the active local community to grant temporary access, though I would like a second opinion from another steward first. – Ajraddatz (talk) 20:56, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
@Wong128hk: I strongly disagree your theory of my harassing others. I was just asking why nominate a page to delete then delete it in just six days (too fast), not whether that would be original research. Why reacted so harshly and impatiently to my simple question? And why close my being nominated for adminship on Chinese Wikibooks back on 24 August 2010 too fast [6] when the only bureaucrat was Shizhao but not you, without asking Shizhao first? (That act exceeded your adminship.) Please note that your patience, and politeness have yet to improve in order to be a truly trusted administrator, by considering phrases like "please, thanks, excuse me, sorry" (請﹑謝謝﹑對不起﹑遺憾). Thanks for your acknowledging my experienced adminship and this is why I tend to have higher standard for adminship. Excuse me, if anyone's higher standard for adminship is your big concern, sorry, then please use your existing adminship more cautiously, rather than applying for it on more wikis. @Ajraddatz: Other than Wikipedia, Chinese wikis tend to be too small to have sizable community to quickly monitor the activities. Thanks for discouraging cross-wiki voting. Before granting adminship, please also carefully consider that impatient administrator may lack trust. Thanks.--Jusjih (talk) 23:38, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
It is a norm to not using admin tools with COI. It seems that your high standard do not apply everywhere. For instance, the revisions containing the criticisms to you. [7]
Actually, it is a same problem between the issue of AFD and the RFA of yours. There is no rules about how long should a AFD last for. And I received no objection about deleting that page not until now. No one can show us it is not a original research. It can be SNOW. On the other hand, there was a threshold of receiving at least six votes to be valid. Anyone can be the person to judge whether a RFA received six votes. I was the one supporting you to be sysop of zh.wikibooks during two RFA. I regret that I have not raised out the problems of having too high threshold at the VP on time. But it does not mean that I agree not to follow the rule. You may say, "hey Wikipedia is not bureaucracy. We should ignore the rule that hinder the development of the wiki." I will say these rules should be used with extra caution and not with subjective view. In your case, either a steward or a bureaucrat should raise out a objective based evidence to ignore the threshold of receiving at least six votes to be valid. For example, raise out the actual differences of the numbers of active users between two periods of time and show that the difference is significant enough. Ummm... To improve the situation, I think I should freeze your RFA and raise out the discussion at Village Pump to change the threshold. If you think that your first RFA can be SNOW to pass, it is strange that you are not agree with the closure of a RFD with SNOW, with "Wikipedia is not bureaucracy" and with "Ignore all rules".
I am sorry that I lose my temper and patient to one who always WP:POINT, forces other to follow his suggestions, double standards and do not think that he got any mistakes even there is a user with plenty amount of contribution was forced to leave BY HIM.
That's all. --J.Wong 03:42, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
It is my fault if you think that it is a norm that RFD should at least last for a week and I deleted a page that should be deleted a day before. I apologize for it.--J.Wong 04:00, 12 October 2017 (UTC)
@Wong128hk: In addition to your latest apology, please also understand that:
  1. Requesting adminship implies consent to be examined by the community. Candidates are to adapt to the community, including reasonable criticism, not the community adapting to candidates. Even unreasonable criticism has to be politely answered to get the sympathy from disinterested third party.
  2. Criticizing existing and prospective administrators, bureaucrats, etc, is routinely inevitable. For example, I got this at least once in 2015 [8] when asked about how active I was as a bureaucrat on Wikimedia Commons. I accepted the criticism and resigned, but remaining an administrator there has been much easier.
  3. Therefore, please also consider apologizing for excessively long counter-criticism here and on Chinese Wikiquote. With nothing personal, power-hungry impatience is bad for adminship. Thanks.--Jusjih (talk) 04:14, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Nope. I won't beg for the sympathy. "真理越辯越明" (The more the truth is debated, the clearer the truth becomes.) Throughout the debates here and on zh.wikiquote, it is proven that your criticisms are unreasonable. To consider a serial of events I mentioned before, it is clearly proven that your objection is of low value. I just point out the fact. You request I need to treat you politely. So have you politely treated Wcjd? Have you apologized for what you have done on him? Speaking "please, sorry, excuse me, etc" does not make you polite, if you do not do it with respect to others. Doing these thing without respect; it can be called as hypocritical. --J.Wong 11:06, 17 October 2017 (UTC)

Ilya@ukwikibooks

Status:    Done

I did 38% of all edits in ukwikibooks since Jan 2016. It is 4 times more than next active user on ukwikibooks in the same period. I did not count two users who post numerous articles that are not eligible for wikibooks as it is their original theories and are not educational. I tried to bring attention of existing admins to this on 2 Jan 2017 nominating those articles for deletion, however, only one of four sets of pages where deleted, other 3 sets where ignored. And these users continued to fill ukwikibooks with such pages without any reaction from admins. Then I nominated myself for admin, but again noone reacted for a week, until I asked other people to come. Ilya (talk) 19:24, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Iliev@bg.wikisource

Our Bulgarian community is dealing with a particularly persistent cross-project vandalism and harassment, chiefly from the PavelStaykov and Modernator-related groups, the latter operating for as long as 7 years now. The introduction of an AI anti-vandalism bot and the (semi-)automated blocking of open proxies (currently at over 300,000 individual IPs and almost 8,500 ranges) have almost completely curbed the abuse on bgwiki, but some of the vandalism then spilled to other projects, notably the BG wiktionary, quote, and source. The first two have already been taken care of, so amongst the important local projects for the Bulgarian community wikisource remains the only vulnerable one. It is going to need constant attention, so in perspective I'll be seeking a permanent adminship, but a temporary one for a start would do just as fine, knowing what's the usual procedure. I'll also be trying to cover as much as possible of the other typical sysop activities that I already take care of on bgwiki, bgwikt and bgquote.

Many thanks in advance,

I'm still the sole administrator of this project, and I think, there should be at least some person to observe and block vandalism and SPAM locally.

In addition to my contributions as a normal user, there's a lot of maintenance to be done. For this purpose sysop rights are very helpful, for it's occasionally necessary to delete pages or to modify system pages.

Thanks for your assistance.

Onegaborg@olo.wikipedia

I would like to request administrator rights for Livvi-Karelian Wikipedia. I made original request to start this Wikipedia. In the meantime I have some objections against the order of this election. There is no any rules yet in Livvi-Karelian Wikipedia for election right now. I think that it can cause some misuse in favour of other candidates. Use of the same IP-address for several different votes should be forbidden too. --Onegaborg (talk) 20:12, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Lee@si.wiktionary

I am a sysop from Sinhala Wikipedia and I held the temporary sysop flag on this project (now expired). This is a small project with very little active contributors. I extended the vote again but there were no new participants. I am a native speaker of Sinhala so I would be a better candidate than global sysops in handling issues that require knowledge in Sinhala. Therefore I am requesting temporary sysop right for another year. Lee (talk) 15:36, 27 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello, the Wikipedia in Hausa doesn't have a user community strictly speaking right now and there is no formal local permissions procedure. I'm one of the very few active contributors, working together with Wikimedia Nigeria in order to increase contributions from Hausa speakers, and able to speak basic Hausa. I'm a quite experienced user (20k+ edits) and was an administrator on fr.wikipedia from 2006 to 2015 (desysoped at my own request). I was sysoped for 4 months in July on ha:... but it expired recently and I'm still the only "local" admin. The admin tools would be very useful in order to fight vandalism on ha.wikipedia, improve the main page, solve copyright violation issues, etc. Thanks a lot for your help. After reopening nl.wikinews.org I was given temporary "adminship for 2 weeks to deal with stuff that comes up"[13] by MF Warburg.

Done Granted for 6 months to expire on 2018-01-14. --MF-W 00:05, 14 July 2017 (UTC)

Other Wikinewsers do better understand, and even wrote an article on the reopening op Dutch Wikinews[14] Ymnes (talk) 16:04, 15 July 2017 (UTC)

Please hold on. I cannot trust this guy using the page for off-topic criticism without sincerely considering my questioning. Too many very new users are inflating the votes.--Jusjih (talk) 02:18, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
I asked this guy why he would nominate something for deletion on Chinese Wikibooks but then delete in just six days without asking other administrators, but he responded too aggressively and made the discussion too unfriendly, i.e. criticizing others without willingness to consider others' criticism. That is no place to do that, so restarting the vote may be desirable, if not entirely rejecting this request. Once again, please be wary of very new users inflating the votes.--Jusjih (talk) 02:26, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
It is because you frequently exaggerate the minor problems of others and you have the tendency to harass other users. [17] There is no guideline about how long should a RFD last for on zh.wikibooks.
And why close my being nominated for adminship on Chinese Wikibooks back on 24 August 2010 too fast [18] when the only bureaucrat was Shizhao but not you, without asking Shizhao first?
For example, I got this at least once in 2015 [20] when asked about how active I was as a bureaucrat on Wikimedia Commons.
