Reason: new name is more related to my current alt ident; have setup my WMF staff account already and want to update this very old username to link from metawiki user page "CReynolds (WMF)" and continue personal edits for the community with this new name. thank you.
Reason: The given name has no edits across any wikimedia platforms (but is registered for a platform outside the English Wikipedia), and I thus would like to usurp the username for purposes of consistency across the platforms that I utilize on a daily basis. The associated account has no edits.
Reason: My username "DarthBotto" is attracting unwanted attention to my private life, as my real name becomes increasingly prolific in the entertainment industry. Likewise, I have received threatening emails - as well as my industry colleagues - which is stressful. I wish to put distance between "DarthBotto of Wikipedia" and my public identity. The Portuguese editor named "Botto" edited for a very short period in 2006, before never touching the encyclopedia again. DarthBotto (talk) 21:12, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: Illuminati42 is the username I usually use on the internet, but when I created a Wikipedia account it was already taken, so I settled on davidxu160801, the username that I use for less "public" accounts. I intend to become more active on Wikipedia now and since my current username has my real name in it and with some skills you can probably find out quite a few details about me, I'd prefer it if I could usurp Illuminati42, an account created 6 years ago on the English Wikipedia that has no edits.
@Davidxu160801: Since both the accounts' homewiki is enwiki, you might want to request at our local venue where on hold time is just a week as compared to a month here. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:30, 4 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@1997kB: Ah, thanks. I originally was going to make the request there but I misunderstood what it did to be that it only allowed me to usurp the account on the English Wikipedia, and since I occasionally edit on other wikis, I went here instead. So what am I supposed to do now? Do I delete this section, or is someone supposed to close this request? davidxu160801 (talk) 05:00, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: Please may I usurp the username 'Jolly'? I believe (from looking on global account information) that the user that currently has the username 'Jolly' is no longer active or editing on any of the Wikimedia sites. 'Jolly' was last active in 2007. I am currently editing under the username 'Jolly246' and would love to be able to usurp the username 'Jolly' if that is possible. Thanks!
@1997kB: Hi. Could I withdraw this request and usurp the user "Trinitrotolueno" instead? I decided I don't want to usurp any account with valid live edits. The new target doesn't have any edits, but is registered in cawiki. Sorry for changing my mind, if it's not possible then withdraw all the request entirely.--Santiago142857 (talk) 04:52, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: I am writing her to kindly ask that I be able to usurp the username 'Pip' to replace my current username 'NS_MediaMole'. I haven't been able to edit recently and would very much like to return to editing with a more friendly and personal (but not too personal) username. From looking at Wikimedia I see that 'Pip' has been inactive and did not make many edits. I hope that this request is acceptable and that my username can be changed to 'Pip'. Thank you very much.
Reason: I'm worried that my current name might border on promotional, as it's a direct reference to hockey player Travis Konecny. It's also very difficult to spell and even harder to pronounce. "Ghost" and "River" are my two main internet handles, so it's easier to remember for all parties involved. An account by that name was created automatically over 9 years ago and has one now-deleted edit on Commons, again from almost a decade ago.
Not done@Vit.viol.spi: In order to ensure that usurped usernames be put to good use, we prefer only to grant requests from reasonably well-established users and your account doesn't qualify for that requirement. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 04:14, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: Obviously TNTBot is too similar to TntBot, I'd like to usurp and rename TntBot to TNTBot (capital letters are nice). Is this okay? For reference, this account will be run by TheresNoTime. TNTBottemp (talk) 15:05, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Verifying that I am indeed making this request - TheresNoTime💖 15:06, 12 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: For reasons of privacy, I would like to change my username. I request the usurpation of the username: Eta Carinae. The username has been taken, but without valid edits since 2013. --EVinente (talk) 11:30, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reason: Last year, someone created an Impersonator Account in my name. The person has a long history of abuse both on WMF projects, especially eswiki and IRC from what I've heard, and elsewhere (which is how I crossed paths with them and why they impersonated me). The account promptly got banned and has no edits attached. I'd like to take control of the nickname. --JustTheRealArchivist (talk) 21:31, 21 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@1997kB: Oh, I see, I wasn't aware of that requirement. I registered recently to contribute but would like those edits to be associated with my proper nickname. So I should first make those under this account and then re-request the usurpation sometime later? --JustTheRealArchivist (talk) 17:43, 24 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@JustTheRealArchivist: Yes, keep editing with this account, when you will request usurpation edits will be moved to your proper account. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 02:34, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
