Before posting here[edit]

Please list the specific projects that you need to be renamed in under your request, unless you are requesting a global rename.

How to add an entry here[edit]

To add an entry, please copy and paste the text below into the appropriate section.

=== Oldname ===
|status = <!--don't change this line-->
|domain = global
|Oldname =
|Newname =
|reason = (your remarks here)

For global rename requests:

=== Example ===
|status     = <!--don't change this line-->
|domain     = global
|Oldname    = Example
|Newname    = Foo
|reason     = your remarks here

Making a request for your own account[edit]

For changing your username on one wiki:

Please include the following information in your request:

  • the old username,
  • the new username,
  • please sign ~~~~ request with your account for a simple move (first section), or sign this request with both the originating and the target accounts if you are requesting a merge (second section).

If anything is missing from your request, a steward will request more information. This helps ensure that you are requesting a rename for your own account. Please check before posting your request that the username you want is available. You can test that by going to the (new) user page and looking into the sidebar. If there is a link to user contributions, the account already exists, or check via Special:CentralAuth.

Private requests[edit]

Requests that need to be made in private should be sent using this direct wiki-email interface while logged-in.

Simple rename requests[edit]

If your rename request is simple and does not involve usurpation of an existing account or other SUL issues, you have two options:

  1. Use the request form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest; or
  2. Submit the request below in this section.

Please use this tool to check if the username is taken before filing a request.

@SuperVirtual: Do you understand the potential consequences of using a real name? --Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 15:44, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes, of course. I hope to have no such problems in the future. --SuperVirtual (talk) 15:47, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
@SuperVirtual: As you are blocked on English Wikipedia for edit warring and sock-puppetry, we can't rename until you address those issues and resolve the block. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 18:59, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
@1997kB: I almost forgot that. It was an old block (I think it was 2013, where @Kww: cited me as a sockpuppet of a user I never knew, actually, since he lived in a total different city from mine). --SuperVirtual (talk) 20:40, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
Note that the block has been upheld multiple times. Feel free to evaluate whether his behaviour has improved, but I considered it an obvious match at the time and don't see anything that makes me reconsider that decision.Kww (talk) 21:43, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
@SuperVirtual: Just confirming, you still interested in rename? As your contributions to itwiki seems to indicates that you are seriously contributing to Wikipedia, thus I'm happy to process this request. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 03:16, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
Yes, I'm still interested. -- 06:53, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Thank you very much! --Dennis Radaelli (talk) 21:07, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

@Eeee11: Usernames that are simply names of companies or groups are not permitted. However, usernames are acceptable if they contain a company or group name but are clearly intended to denote an individual person, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", "WidgetFan87", etc. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 05:29, 12 January 2019 (UTC)

@Sharaky: The chosen username (Océano) is too similar to existing usernames: OceanO, Oceano and Ocean0. Please choose another one. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 12:23, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
@1997kB: Ok, i choose Samuel T.Owen (talk · contribs).--Sharaky Talk 09:36, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Requests involving merges, usurps or other complications[edit]

Please add new requests at the end of the section. Sections should be titled your username and requests should be signed by the requesting user.
Please note: Per standard procedure, accounts with valid edits are not usurped, and the target account must be notified at least one month before usurpation.

Notification is ok. —MarcoAurelio (talk) 20:50, 22 December 2018 (UTC)

X mark.svg Not done @Semako96: As mentioned hereUser who requests usurpation must have at least 400 edits or be an administrator on some Wikimedia project. If you want to be renamed now, you are welcome to choose a username which is not already registered or come back later. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 03:33, 15 January 2019 (UTC)

Note: I moved this request from Steward requests/Username changes/2019-02. Hiàn (talk) 23:32, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
X mark.svg Not done @Фада: Target username doesn't meet the criteria for usurpation, please choose a username which isn't already registered. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 12:26, 14 January 2019 (UTC)
