User:செல்வா would like to retain his permissions (re EPIC's message about inactivity)
--செல்வா (talk) 16:19, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- @EPIC: FYI see above - and the request below, though I don't think we were asking people to post here? — xaosflux Talk 14:07, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: The AAR notice does mention reaching out to us here at SN, so I suppose that's why these two users came here. Noting that I have acknowledged this for the record. EPIC (talk) 14:09, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

Deceased editor
Could you globally block User:Dedi? His obituary is at w:ro:Wikipedia:Wikipediști decedați/2025. Tgeorgescu (talk) 14:53, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Done. Rest in peace and thanks for their service to the projects. EPIC (talk) 15:05, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- @Tgeorgescu: Hi, then could you please help place the
{{Wikipedist decedat}}template at the top of Dedi’s user page on rowiki? I have already placed the template on the user’s talk page, but due to a filter I’m unable to edit the user page. Thank you. 浅村しき (talk) 13:29, 13 March 2026 (UTC)- @ShuQizhe rowiki has local administrators that can help you with edit requests, you seem to have hit their local abusefilter, w:ro:Special:Filtru_abuzuri/80. — xaosflux Talk 13:36, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Yes, that’s why I brought it up here — I was hoping Tgeorgescu could help, since they should be able to edit other users’ user pages on rowiki.
- As for specifically finding an administrator on rowiki to make the request, I think the language barrier would make it a bit troublesome for me, so I just posted it here instead. 浅村しき (talk) 13:39, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Done. Tgeorgescu (talk) 13:49, 13 March 2026 (UTC)
- Much appreciate! 浅村しき (talk) 14:04, 13 March 2026 (UTC)

apihighlimits
Hello,
My request to grant my bot the apihighlimits permission has taken quite a long time, which is slowing down the development of the tool. I have several new features (some already deployed on the beta server: wikimonitor-beta.toolforge.org
I kindly ask the stewards to review my request (Steward requests/Global permissions#apihighlimits for GergesBot) at their earliest convenience, so progress isn’t delayed any further. Best regards --Gerges (Talk) 01:25, 24 March 2026 (UTC)

- @Gerges: Please don't start a discussion about the same request at two places at once. We have seen your request and will come to a decision in the near future. Count Count (talk) 10:10, 27 March 2026 (UTC)

Statement on Meta about today's user script security incident
Earlier today (March 5, 2026), Wikimedia Foundation staff were conducting a security review of user-authored code across Wikimedia projects. During that review, we inadvertently activated dormant code that was then quickly identified to be malicious.
The code was active for a 23-minute period. This caused page deletions on Meta-Wiki that have since been restored. To prevent the script from spreading further while we investigated, Wikimedia projects were set to read-only for about 2 hours, and all user JavaScript was temporarily disabled for most of the day.
Affected pages have since been restored, and we believe no permanent damage has occurred as a result of this code. We have no reason to believe that Wikipedia was actively under attack or that personal information was breached as part of this incident.
At this point, the impact of the malicious code has been cleaned up, and user JavaScript has been re-enabled. We are actively developing further security mitigations for user JavaScript in consultation with the community, to make incidents of this kind much more difficult to happen in the future.

UCoC Violation Report: Coordinated Cross-Wiki Harassment and Admin Tag-Teaming (el.wiki / Commons)
Here is the context: During an active, ongoing community discussion (consensus-building) regarding a structural update on the Greek Wikipedia (el.wiki), Administrator A unilaterally deleted the work without prior consensus. When I formally asked them to provide the specific local policy that justified this deletion, they completely avoided the question and refused basic accountability (WP:ADMINACCT).
While this discussion was still active and I was waiting for a policy-based answer locally, Administrator B (acting in clear concert regarding the same dispute) followed my contribution history to Wikimedia Commons and began initiating retaliatory copyright/deletion claims against my uploaded files.
Because this involves a coordinated, cross-wiki retaliation effort by multiple local admins to intimidate an editor after shutting down a local consensus process, I want to ensure I report this to the correct global authority.Ioannis Kouimoutzoglou (talk) 12:00, 19 March 2026 (UTC)
