Welcome everybody! I’m A09, a regular contributor to Wikimedia projects since late 2020. Currently I am an admin and checkuser on Slovene Wikipedia, sysop on Metawiki and a global sysop (among others). Nowadays I mostly fight vandalism, various forms of long term abuse, spam and unfounded alternative accounts. If elected, I would continue doing things I loved so far, and stewards toolset would make my antivandalism-related editing much simpler. I would also be an active member all around on handful of stewards’ noticeboards (like SRG, SRGP, SRP and SRCU) and help other editors (especially on small wikis) keep projects operating smoothly.

I acknowledge I have been a party to some controversies in the past, however time has shown these instances were rare. This does not indicate I wouldn’t step back from situations I have been previously involved with. In my six years of experience I’ve met (mostly online) numerous wonderful people that I can relate my questions to in case I am uncertain – afterall, we’re just human and prone to errors, more important is whether we learn from them.

I confirm I have familiarised myself with the steward and oversight policy, and already signed ANPDP privacy policy. Due to stewards' homewiki rule, my homewiki is slwiki.

Hello everyone! For those of you who don't know me, I am AmandaNP. I became a steward for the first time in 2021. I stepped down for the last year in anticipation of an activity drop. I am resubmitting my name for the steward elections as my plate has cleared up, and expect my activity to increase further later this year. I have been a two term arbitrator, a enwiki bureaucrat since 2019, and I served two years on the Ombuds Commission. I have been a CU for almost a decade and a half, and OS for just over a decade. I also built UTRS 2 and hope to push further upgrades this year.

For 2026, my role follows in the footsteps of where I have tried to contribute in the past, but will have a strong focus on pursuing a strategic vision and pushing for sustainability. The steward group, while internally self-sustainable, is subject to external pressures (i.e., changing technologies, increased workloads, and the voice in the anti-abuse conversation as a whole) that continue to demand more with less. We would be remiss if we didn't take that concern seriously.

Additionally, in terms of where I will be most active on-wiki, it would be SRCU with Sotiale, and SRP, addressing individual requests. I expect to also show up around global sock prevention and clean-up, especially when coming from enwiki, as it pushes a fair amount of steward request traffic. I will also be looking for additional ways to reduce workloads with scripts that I will make available to the stewards as I have in the past.

Thank you for taking the time to consider me. -- Amanda (she/her) 08:03, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I have been an active contributor to the Wikimedia projects since 2020, with my first involvement dating back to 2016, and I currently serve as an administrator on the French Wikipedia. I also contribute regularly to Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons and the French Wiktionary. As a polyglot with a strong curiosity for cultures (both geographical and project-specific), I frequently move across the various Wikimedia platforms, sometimes as a contributor, sometimes simply as a reader.

This curiosity has led me to contribute to several regional-language Wikipedias, notably in Ligurian, Norman and Picard. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of the diversity of community dynamics and, in particular, of projects where key responsibilities rely on very few people or cannot always be handled locally. Such spaces strike me as essential to preserving a principle I have always valued: universality. It does not exist by default. It is built, defended and maintained. Maintained through daily collective effort.

Beyond technical competence, I place people at the heart of my engagement. Roles involving access to sensitive information require a high degree of trust and a strong ethical framework. I have consistently ensured that I never go beyond what is strictly necessary in administrative matters, and I firmly believe in protecting anonymity whenever it is chosen. For me, this is a cornerstone of personal safety. And also a vital condition for healthy participation within the movement.

In the interest of transparency, I would also like to outline my broader involvement in the movement. Based in France, I contribute under my civil name, Maxime Baidakov, and hold a secondary account under the same name. Over the years, I have taken part in numerous community meetings and exchanges, and have consistently supported the development of smaller projects, both in terms of content and community structure. Since November 2025, I have also been a member of the Board of Trustees of Wikimedia France. I make a clear effort to maintain appropriate boundaries between these roles, but I hope this engagement reflects the consistency of my commitment and my genuine desire to support the long-term health of all Wikimedia projects.

    Dear community,

Fifteen years ago, the global community elected me as a steward. I stepped down during the 2017 confirmation process after becoming rather inactive.

From 2018 until last year I was completely inactive; since then I’ve returned and am again an administrator on the Simple English Wikipedia and on Meta, the two projects where I’m most active.

I previously held oversight, checkuser, and bureaucrat rights, which were either removed for inactivity or resigned in good standing. I overlooked a few remaining permissions due to other matters; had I realized, I would have resigned them at the time.

I served on the Ombuds Commission from February 2015 until November 2016. Back when we used Freenode, I was also an IRC group contact for five years. A fairly complete list of permissions I hold or have held is here.

As a steward I worked broadly, later focusing on cross-wiki issues, CheckUser requests, and oversight. If elected again, I intend to assist primarily in these areas. I believe I can support the global community in a variety of ways with these tools. Thanks for your time and consideration!

Hi! I am Count Count and I am offering to serve the community as a steward. I have been a wikimedian since 2017 and my home wiki is the German Wikipedia where I am a checkuser, administrator and ex-arb and ex-VRT member. As a global sysop and an administrator on meta I have so far focused on fighting spam, regularly cleaning up linkspam crosswiki and processing global spam blacklist requests. To aid anti-spam work, I developed Spamcheck, a tool for investigating link additions across all Wikimedia wikis.

If elected I would continue with my anti-spam work as well as helping out wherever needed (in particular with SRG, SRCU, GIPBE and off-wiki requests via Discord/IRC/VRT). Also I hope I can ease the workload for all stewards with additional tools and scripts.

As a newcomer I would tread carefully until I find my footing in the new role. Having met some of the stewards off-wiki and onwiki there seems to be good teamwork and I look forward to be a new member of the team.

I have already signed the Confidentiality Agreement for Nonpublic Information, am already familiar with the checkuser policy and have read and understood the requisite policies regarding steward access, oversight access and agree to abide by all of them.

    Thank you for your consideration!

Hey everyone, I am DreamRimmer. I created my account in April 2021 and have been editing actively since March 2023. I currently serve as an admin and interface admin on Meta-Wiki and a temporary admin on Hindi Wikipedia (hiwiki). I have been a SWMT member since late 2023 and also serve globally as a global sysop since June 2025 and a global renamer since January 2024. On English Wikipedia, I am a member of the Bot Approvals Group.

I regularly work in areas where steward tools can help stop cross-wiki spam, vandalism, and abusive LTAs. I am a technical contributor who develops bots, tools, and scripts to support global users in their work. Three of my scripts have been promoted as gadgets, two for global rename workflows and one for the Simple English Wikipedia RfD process. I have been assisting at steward venues such as SRP for the past two years, manually archiving SRP requests for sixteen months before automating the process through my bot. Auditing global groups such as global IP block exempt, abuse filter helper, and global rollbackers was difficult and time consuming due to the scale of members and wikis involved, which CptViraj and I addressed by creating the https://globalgroupsaudit.toolforge.org tool that simplifies auditing for stewards. I have also contributed to maintenance tasks, such as writing a script to modify over 3700 global and local blocks to correct block reason text, which I could have easily handled myself.

If elected, I intend to assist with SRP, SRGP, SRG, and SRM, and I would also support requests at SRB given my interest and experience in bot development. While I do not yet have functionary experience on-wiki, I have worked with these tools in my local MediaWiki environment and through my technical work I am familiar with issues related to networks and IP addresses. I am also aware of steward policies and other relevant policies such as CheckUser, Oversight, Access to nonpublic personal data policy, and privacy policies. For most of the year my time zone is +5:30 and I remain active throughout the day, allowing me to handle requests consistently. There are currently no stewards from India, and I believe my experience and knowledge of Indic languages would be useful to the steward team. I acknowledge that I am not perfect, and I would welcome guidance from experienced stewards and will consult or defer to others whenever in doubt. If there are any questions, I am happy to answer them. – DreamRimmer 16:28, 15 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I'm Leaderboard, and I want to be a steward for 2026. My primary areas of interest would be
    • granting permissions on SRP and SRGP - I've been around as a participant on the latter for a while, and would like to grant them myself.
    • working "behind-the-scenes" to make stewards' and other contributors' work easier. An example would be Global renamers/FAQ, which I significantly improved after becoming a global renamer by listing down common cases that tripped me. This helps new renamers, improves transparency and is a useful guide for all renamers (new or experienced). As a steward, one area I'm interested is seeing how common bottlenecks and time-consuming areas (such as IP/global blocks and global lock appeals) can be improved for both the requestor and the stewards.
    • continuing to work on the technical side of Wikimedia (related to the second point); I continue to maintain Global reminder bot and Global statistics, the former of which runs on almost every Wikimedia wiki and has helped hundreds of users along the way. I'm also a good fit for areas such as bot requests (which tends to be a less-looked-after area by stewards) and abuse filters (being an abuse filter helper which allows me to view filters across Wikimania).

On the other hand, while I've had experience with cross-wiki anti-vandalism, and as an admin of five wikis (two of which I'm there mainly for anti-vandalism/technical purposes), as a steward I don't expect routine anti-vandalism to be a priority. This statement is not meant to be exhaustive - feel free to ask me any questions you have.

I primarily speak English and Malayalam (though I don't tend to use that on Wikimedia as I've never formally learned the language), have intermediate-ish proficiency in Dutch (CEFR B1) and can understand basic Hindi.

    Some additional notes:

    • This statement is directly adapted from my 2025 statement, as my rationale has stayed pretty much the same.
    • I've made mistakes over the years, but like to think that I've improved and am receptive to feedback.
    • I expect some people will have questions about my 2025 steward attempt, or the U4C 2025 elections that I did not pass. Please feel free to ask them; the reason why I'm not specifically addressing them here is to avoid cluttering my statement.

I am submitting my candidacy for the role of Steward to further support the global Wikimedia community. I have been an active editor since 2004, bringing over two decades of contribution to the movement and the same time gaining a fair amount of satisfactions and the pleasure to meet real people on several occasions. Between 2007 and 2016, I served as a Steward for nearly ten years before stepping down in good standing to take a personal hiatus.

Since I returned to active participation, I have focused on both local wiki patrolling and cross-wiki coordination. I currently serve as an Administrator and Bureaucrat on the Italian Wikipedia, as well as on Meta-Wiki coordination project and I am a sysop on simple.wikipedia.

Since October 2024, I have held the Global Sysop flag. While this role allows me to address immediate issues across smaller wikis, I have frequently encountered sophisticated cross-wiki spam and vandalism that require the additional technical tools, such as checkuser on login.wiki and global blocking/locking permissions, available only to Stewards.

My previous decade of service as a Steward might ensure you about my ability to handle sensitive tasks with neutrality and care. If elected, I intend to apply my "re-acquired" experience and my long-standing knowledge of Wikimedia policy and MediaWiki software to protect our projects from disruption and support communities that lack local high level permissions like oversight.

I look forward to your feedback and I am available to answer to your questions. Thank you, M/ (talk) 21:28, 22 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone, My name is Mohammed Qays. I joined Wikimedia projects on 4 June 2022, and I have remained an active contributor on Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects since then. I currently serve as a sysop on the Arabic Wikipedia (since 23 January 2024), an interface administrator (since 24 October 2024), and a sysop on Wikidata (since 19 August 2024).

Through my work as an administrator, I have gained experience in handling maintenance tasks, supporting editors, and applying policies carefully and fairly. I am particularly interested in contributing beyond my home wiki and being more involved with the global Wikimedia community, especially in areas where cross-wiki assistance and coordination are needed.

I have read and fully agree with everything outlined in Stewards/Elections 2026/Guidelines. If elected, I commit to assisting users and handling steward tasks in accordance with established policies, guidelines, and best practices, while acting with neutrality, caution, and respect for privacy.

I understand the importance of accountability and recognize that steward work requires careful judgment. I am always willing to seek advice from more experienced stewards, step back from situations where there may be a conflict of interest, and learn from any mistakes.

Thank you for taking the time to consider my nomination. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hello, I am SCP-2000. Currently, I am a sysop, ArbCom member, and SPI clerk on Chinese Wikipedia. I am also a global rollbacker, a former Steward Clerk, and Wikipedia Asian Month Steering Committee Southeast & East Asia Representative. My main work on zhwiki and globe includes anti-vandalism, responding to inquiries related to proxy and account blocks, and dispute resolution. I often engage in conversations between the WMF and the local community, sharing the concerns and suggestions of community members with WMF developers.

If elected, I will work on SRG and SRCU stuffs, particularly addressing vandals using Chinese. I will align with the Stewards' policy and will not use my Steward tools on my home wiki (i.e., zhwiki). Additionally, I will handle incidents that require Steward involvement and participate in regular discussions between Stewards and WMF.

As I am a human being and a student, I will need to take breaks and finish academic assignments:) Therefore, I won't be active every day. However, I will remain regularly active, and you can reach me via ping or Discord.

I have signed the ANPDP. My time zone is UTC+8.

      Thank you for your consideration.

(Edited on 2 Feb) Please note that this is SCP-2000's statement rather than SHB2000. You can find his statement there:)

Hello, everyone, I’m SHB. I’ve been a regular contributor to the Wikimedia sphere since 2021, and am a sysop, bureaucrat and checkuser on my home wiki, the English Wikivoyage. I’m also a global sysop/rollbacker and a sysop on Meta-Wiki and the English Wikibooks. I routinely assist with cross-wiki maintenance, including working on anti-vandalism, anti-spam and speedy deletion backlogs on small wikis that lack sysops.

If elected, I intend to continue the work I've been doing, but with the extra tools at my disposal. This includes handling global (b)lock requests on SRG (where I have submitted over 1,500 requests), some checkuser requests at SRCU, while also addressing requests at both SRP and SRGP.

I recognise I’m not immune to mistakes, and I’ve made a few in the past. Therefore, I plan to take things cautiously, with guidance from more experienced stewards. I will make it a point to step back from situations where I have any involvement, even if it's minor, and learn from any errors I might make.

I’ve familiarised myself with the stewards policy and the oversight policy. I’ve already been previously familiar with the checkuser policy and by extension, the privacy policy and the WMF’s ANPDP. For the purposes of the home wiki rule, I consider both the English Wikivoyage and English Wikibooks to fall under this rule.

My time zone is UTC+10 during the southern winter months (April to September) and UTC+11 during the summer months (October to March). I am generally available most days, but I often take a long break and travel somewhere at least once a year, and typically unreachable on-wiki during this period (though I can still be reached via email or Discord).

Thank you for considering me as a steward; I’m more than happy to answer any questions you may have. :)

Edit 2026-02-02: just making it clear here that this is the nomination statement for SHB2000 (the Wikivoyage guy) and not SCP-2000. Please see Stewards/Elections 2026/Statements/SCP-2000 for their nomination (just a really bad username coincidence I know :/).

Hi! My name is Lucas Teles, I am a former steward with more than ten years having served in the group. My most recent confirmation was in 2024, which went well. Throughout my service as a steward, I usually kept a low profile work, with not much drama or controversy and all confirmations were succesful. Of course it wasn't perfect, and I always paid attention to suggestions I received in those processes. I left the group in 2024, because I really needed more time to dedicate to real life work and other areas of Wikimedia. Also, in 2020, I had to leave the group for a year due to a variety of factors, and then was re-elected the following year.

After all those changes and serving other committees, I learned a lot and met with incredible people, but I can say for sure that the Steward group was where I've found that my volunteer time was valued and I could fit it better with my real life. If elected, I don't plan to request removal of the rights anytime soon, as long as I remain active, until I am definitely leaving.

I am currently a global sysop, rollbacker and renamer. Mostly active as a renamer, but those other tools have been useful for my work dealing with cross-wiki vandalism as I watch SWviewer. I am also a member of Ombuds, on which I constantly deal with privacy and checkuser issues. To avoid potential conflict of interest, I plan to withdraw from that group decision-making position if elected steward. My home wiki is Portuguese Wikipedia, and the last time I held advanced rights there was until 2024, when I left in good standing.

If elected, I plan to work the same way I did in the past, mostly dealing with spambots and vandalism, but also using checkuser and oversight tools when necessary. I will most likely be seen at SRG, but probably sometimes at SRP as well, and lurking at IRC to answer emergency requests. Also, I will be proactively looking for work by routinely checking abuse logs (I see some backlogs there), watching recent changes feeds, and so on. I am willing to keep community trust, stay active, learn some updates of new potential procedures that may have come up in recent time. Thank you for your participation.—Teles «Talk ˱C L @ S˲» 12:44, 19 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi everyone, I'm Ternera! I began editing Wikipedia in 2015 and began to pick up activity again in 2024. Currently, I serve as a global sysop, global rollbacker, Meta admin, Simple English Wikipedia admin, and Wikidata admin. Becoming involved globally has given me a greater appreciation for the work that volunteers do every day to keep the projects running smoothly.

If elected, I would focus on addressing long-term abuse cases by monitoring SRG, assist with global rights at SRGP, and local rights at SRP. Professionally, I work in the tech industry, dabble in coding, and maintain a homelab, so I have some technical experience to bring to the table as well.

I've familiarized myself with policies relating to stewards and would take care when using tools I am unfamiliar with. I've made my fair share of errors over time, but I do my best to ask experienced users if I am unsure about something. I've also signed the confidentiality agreement.

      Hi everyone,

I'm Nicolas Vigneron from Brittany, France. I've been editing Wikimedia projects since 2004. First I was active in French Wikipédia, but I very quickly moved on to Commons, Wikisource and then Wikidata. I now have more than 7 million edits and a strong crosswiki activity and have various rights on multiples projects see the details (among others, I'm sysop 8 times on Commons, fr.ws, fr.wp, br.wp, br.ws, mul.ws, la.ws, wikimania). I feel I can bring my experience of underrepresentated projects and languages.

I think I have a fairly good understanding of steward rules, I've read documentation and I'm counting on the other stewards (soon-to-be colleague?) to help me. Above all, I'll respect consensus and collaboration.

I'm active in the Wikimedia movement at large, taking part and organizing conferences, training, etc. Also, I'm a more-or-less technical person, not a dev but adjacent. For instance, I've dealt with OAuth requests or helped people setting up 2FA.

For transparency, I have a secondary account VIGNERON en résidence used professionally.

Thanks. I'm available to answer any questions (publicly or privately).

      Cheers, VIGNERON * discut. 19:45, 29 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
