- Languages: see below
- Personal info: (English)I'm Leaderboard, and I want to be a steward for 2026. My primary areas of interest would be
- granting permissions on SRP and SRGP - I've been around as a participant on the latter for a while, and would like to grant them myself.
- working "behind-the-scenes" to make stewards' and other contributors' work easier. An example would be Global renamers/FAQ, which I significantly improved after becoming a global renamer by listing down common cases that tripped me. This helps new renamers, improves transparency and is a useful guide for all renamers (new or experienced). As a steward, one area I'm interested is seeing how common bottlenecks and time-consuming areas (such as IP/global blocks and global lock appeals) can be improved for both the requestor and the stewards.
- continuing to work on the technical side of Wikimedia (related to the second point); I continue to maintain Global reminder bot and Global statistics, the former of which runs on almost every Wikimedia wiki and has helped hundreds of users along the way. I'm also a good fit for areas such as bot requests (which tends to be a less-looked-after area by stewards) and abuse filters (being an abuse filter helper which allows me to view filters across Wikimania).
On the other hand, while I've had experience with cross-wiki anti-vandalism, and as an admin of five wikis (two of which I'm there mainly for anti-vandalism/technical purposes), as a steward I don't expect routine anti-vandalism to be a priority. This statement is not meant to be exhaustive - feel free to ask me any questions you have.
I primarily speak English and Malayalam (though I don't tend to use that on Wikimedia as I've never formally learned the language), have intermediate-ish proficiency in Dutch (CEFR B1) and can understand basic Hindi.
Some additional notes:
- This statement is directly adapted from my 2025 statement, as my rationale has stayed pretty much the same.
- I've made mistakes over the years, but like to think that I've improved and am receptive to feedback.
- I expect some people will have questions about my 2025 steward attempt, or the U4C 2025 elections that I did not pass. Please feel free to ask them; the reason why I'm not specifically addressing them here is to avoid cluttering my statement.
