    I have been an active contributor to the Wikimedia projects since 2020, with my first involvement dating back to 2016, and I currently serve as an administrator on the French Wikipedia. I also contribute regularly to Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons and the French Wiktionary. As a polyglot with a strong curiosity for cultures (both geographical and project-specific), I frequently move across the various Wikimedia platforms, sometimes as a contributor, sometimes simply as a reader.

    This curiosity has led me to contribute to several regional-language Wikipedias, notably in Ligurian, Norman and Picard. These experiences have given me a deeper understanding of the diversity of community dynamics and, in particular, of projects where key responsibilities rely on very few people or cannot always be handled locally. Such spaces strike me as essential to preserving a principle I have always valued: universality. It does not exist by default. It is built, defended and maintained. Maintained through daily collective effort.

    Beyond technical competence, I place people at the heart of my engagement. Roles involving access to sensitive information require a high degree of trust and a strong ethical framework. I have consistently ensured that I never go beyond what is strictly necessary in administrative matters, and I firmly believe in protecting anonymity whenever it is chosen. For me, this is a cornerstone of personal safety. And also a vital condition for healthy participation within the movement.

    In the interest of transparency, I would also like to outline my broader involvement in the movement. Based in France, I contribute under my civil name, Maxime Baidakov, and hold a secondary account under the same name. Over the years, I have taken part in numerous community meetings and exchanges, and have consistently supported the development of smaller projects, both in terms of content and community structure. Since November 2025, I have also been a member of the Board of Trustees of Wikimedia France. I make a clear effort to maintain appropriate boundaries between these roles, but I hope this engagement reflects the consistency of my commitment and my genuine desire to support the long-term health of all Wikimedia projects.
