  • Personal info: Over the course of my involvement with Wikimedia projects since early 2006, I have come to be quite active in countering various kinds of disruption, especially spam and vandalism. To do that work, I have been entrusted with some privileged access:

    If the community sees fit to grant me access to the steward tools, I would be better able to stop cross-wiki spam and vandalism, though I do intend to attend to the request pages as well. I'm very reachable by email, or in many IRC channels, such as #wikimedia-stewards.

  176. I do have some concerns that Mike may be a bit too red tape obsessed. But on balance I think he's going to be a fine steward. His opposers will give him something to think about, and the rest of us will keep his tendencies red-tape-wise in line. He has a large number of good qualities that way overbalance that issue... hard worker, highly trusted, calm demeanor, knows his way around a lot of wikis, good at CU... and apparently cute, per Mixwell but I really couldn't say about that part. Also I'm not sure that he's doing a "god" job like Marine-blue claims ... His language schools are good (but maybe you should learn a few more just for the sake of it) and he is virtually never absent from wiki projects.
