Wikimedia European Affiliates Cooperation/European Regional Event February 2021

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki
Discussing the implementation of the 2030 recommendations

In addition to the ongoing local community events and conversations, a second Regional European Affiliates Transition Event will take place virtually on 20 February 2021 (from 13:00 CET until 16:00 CET). This is a follow-up event of the first European meeting from November 2020.

Focus of the event is on discussing possible implementations of the strategy process in Europe and what future collaboration in Europe could look like, taking into account the goals of the 2030 strategy.

The event will be organised and hosted by Wikimedia Österreich, Wikimedia Deutschland, and Wikimedia Nederland. We are currently preparing the agenda and structure of the meeting and will share details on how to participate soon. The meeting will be held in English.

Topics[edit]

Please enter topics that you would like to discuss at the meeting in the list below (and maybe also add links to concepts that might help explain the topic or idea):

  1. I would like to give a very brief report from the global meeting on impactful topics and content gaps, that Wikimedia UK is co-facilitating on 5th February. LucyCrompton-Reid (WMUK) (talk) 12:51, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I would like to briefly raise the question of how global affiliates might fit in with regional structures. I think this is a topic that we will have to consider as more thematic organisations and user groups come into existence. We need make no decisions now, but I believe it's something we should be aware of because of potential future impact. --RexxS (talk) 15:18, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
