In April 2025, a General Assembly of the Tajik Wikimedians User Group was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. The main purpose of the assembly was to strengthen the internal structure of the group, review the activities of the past two years, and define future directions for development.

Main Goal of the Assembly

The key objective of the General Assembly was to establish a new governance structure, reflect on the achievements and challenges of the previous two years, and appoint responsible individuals to lead the group in the upcoming period.

Key Activities of the Assembly

Discussion on the New Structure Due to the small size of the community at the early stage, the user group previously operated without a formal board. After two years of active work, the community agreed on the need to establish a three-member board. This new structure aims to improve coordination, decision-making, and flexibility in planning future activities.

Review of Past Activities The co-founders presented a comprehensive report covering the group’s activities over the past two years. The report highlighted key events, projects, collaborations, and achievements of the Tajik Wikimedia community.

Appointment of Key Persons As a result of the assembly and the election process, Zolfeqar Fatihzadeh and Zinhor Nasri were selected as Key Persons of the Tajik Wikimedians User Group for a two-year term. They will be responsible for coordination, representation, and the overall development of the group at both national and international levels.

Future Planning Participants discussed priority areas for future work, including the development of the Tajik Wikipedia, community growth, capacity building, and stronger cooperation with educational and cultural institutions.

Conclusion

The General Assembly marked an important milestone in the institutional development of the Tajik Wikimedians User Group. It laid a solid foundation for transparent governance, strategic planning, and the sustainable growth of the Tajik Wikimedia community.
