The Digital Fest 2025, held on February 23 at the Hyatt Regency Dushanbe, was a key event uniting professionals from Tajikistan’s growing digital landscape. This annual gathering served as a platform for discussions on innovation, digital marketing, UX/UI design, fintech, and artificial intelligence. More than 15 industry experts shared their knowledge and insights, contributing to the expansion of Tajikistan’s digital ecosystem.
One of the highlights of this year’s event was the participation of Zinhor Nasri, a member of the Tajik Wikimedians User Group, who delivered a talk on Creativity and Innovation in Digital Advertising. His presentation focused on the role of creative approaches in digital marketing and how Wikimedia projects can support knowledge-sharing and content creation in Tajikistan. Zinhor also introduced the audience to Wikipedia, the Wikimedia Foundation’s initiatives, and the importance of free knowledge access for the region.
His speech emphasized the significance of local language Wikipedias and how they can serve as powerful tools for education and digital literacy. He shared insights on how Tajik Wikipedia can be developed further and the need for more active contributors, institutional partnerships, and public awareness. This was particularly relevant as many attendees were entrepreneurs, marketers, and developers—key groups that could help expand and enhance Tajik-language content on Wikimedia platforms.
The success of this year’s Digital Fest was made possible through the support of the Innovation Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Association for Digital Development, and various partners who played a crucial role in organizing and enhancing the event. Their contributions helped bring together young minds from different regions of Tajikistan, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
A key takeaway from the event was the realization that Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects can play a major role in Tajikistan’s digital transformation. As Zinhor highlighted, Wikipedia is not just an online encyclopedia but a movement dedicated to free access to knowledge. Engaging with industry experts and digital pioneers reaffirmed that growth in the tech sector depends on strong networks, institutional support, and a culture of open collaboration.
