Schemas[edit]

I think for the acceptance of structured articles it is important to have structures and to discuss further what is important for a topic and how to model the data for it. For the data modelling there exist schemas in Wikidata. This is a concept to say what combinations of properties and items are needed for an item about a specific topic. Do you have experience with Schemas and do you think that Abstract Articles based on templates can help adding more data to Wikidata. I think that currently a lot of information contained in articles is not in Wikidata and one reason for that is the challenge of converting statements out of texts to statements in Property-Item relation.--Hogü-456 (talk) 18:56, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you are right, having more structure on items will help with functions working on those items. In so far, Wikifunctions might become a forcing function towards unifying Wikidata a bit. But I am sure it will be a give and take. Let's see! :) --DVrandecic (WMF) (talk) 18:49, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
