A tradução original (o Indech apenas transcreveu para cá; atualmente possui também o complemento do estatuto para a Wikipédia lusófona) havia sido iniciada por um editor europeu e prossegui com a terminologia européia por conta da orientação de versões da língua portuguesa. Para o Meta-Wiki acho que talvez a alteração não tenha problema, mas para as transcrições que forem feitas para eventuais ativações de alguém ter o estatuto em outra wiki de língua portuguesa (Wikcionário e Wikinews fizeram votações nesse sentido, IMHO, sem precisarem de ter alguém com checkuser "permanente") talvez seja preferível usar a forma utilizador, já que todas possuem essa orientação de apaziguamento de dialetos. 555 20:31, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect sentence[edit]

Translating literally: This information is only stored for one week, so edits made earlier will not be shown via CheckUser. (bolded by me)

I don't know why it was written there but you might know that the bolded sentence is not correct. It is not just one week. I would fix it, but it is a global policy and I believe I have to ask first.

It should be: "Esta informação é guardada apenas por um curto tempo, por isso, edições feitas anteriormente não serão mostradas via Checkuser."

It means exactly what is said on "CheckUser policy"

I think this may be a mistranslation. Here we have: "This information is only stored for a short period, so edits made prior to that will not be shown via CheckUser. A log is kept of who has made which queries with the tool. This log is available to those with the checkuser-log permission" Ruy Pugliesi^◥ 01:40, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps the best thing to do would be to retranslate the message from scratch? There's no "public" number of how long the tool stores the information, since that's adjusted by the sysadmins and we're not given the exact value, for one, and it would encourage abuse if the actual value were public knowledge.
