Talk:Communications committee/Subcommittees/Translation/core langs

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I like the idea behind the calculation here - can the individual steps be discussed in detail?

  • I think the list needs recalculating as of 2009, since some projects have grown faster than others.
  • I'd also like to see the list fleshed out to include all langs with at least 10,000 articles (so they are something more than 0 :) and perhaps to include other milestones. Participation in commons, foundation efforts, and other multilingual projects should count a lot; those all require multilingual awareness and involvement (whereas one can build an effective wikipedia with little outside interaction)...

You can edit. :-) Might want to bring it up on transcom-l too... I posted something about priorities a few weeks ago. Cbrown1023 talk 00:50, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think that we should consider the new order used also on WikiStats, based on the views/hour. Number of edits is a good metric for mostly editor-oriented things such Licensing update, but e.g. the Usability Initiative has other priorities. --Nemo 05:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
