Dear @Info-farmer,

Thanks for submitting this proposal. The team has reviewed your application, we need a few clarifications before moving forward with a funding decision.

1. How many additional short stories/books are targeted in this phase? Teh scope isn't quantified beyond the overall Wikisource metric target of 500 pages. Could you share an estimated number of letters, books, or pages you expect to work on?

2. Can you confirm the public domain / copyright status of the letters/books being digitized? Like the previous approved project, we'd like the same confirmation for this batch.

3. Several listed trainees also participated as trainees in your recently completed letters project. Could you clarify what new skills or training content this phase will cover for them, versus what they've already learned?

4. In your prior project's final report, the team noted a preference for workshops to be scheduled before the project starts and to avoid academic examination periods. Does the proposed timeline (Aug 31 - Sep 30, 2026) account for this feedback?

5. In your prior project's Final Report for the letters project answered "No" to the compliance question (whether the project was in compliance with all applicable terms, laws, and regulations). Could you clarify what was not complied with and whether it has been resolved? We'd like this addressed before considering the new application, given it involves the same team and similar activities.

6. After reviewing the linked budget sheet, it appears that it corresponds to your previous, already-approved project (the letters project), not your current application. Could you help clarify and provide the right budget sheet for the present proposal? There is also a discrepancy between the amount mentioned in the linked budget sheet and the amount requested in this application.

Looking forward to your response before 5th August. Thanks PDas (WMF) (talk) 06:56, 31 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

1. As i mentioned in this application, we already completed 51 short stories by 21 short story books The total page number of the 21 books is 2413 pages. Now by this project, we are going to complete the minimum / remaining 50 short stories . We discussed and prepared this list at this Tamil Wikisource category talk page. We definitely going to complete the short stories with out blue link/tick mark. The total pages are minimum above 500 pages. As you know in the last Annadurai's letter we promised to above 1000 pages. At the end of that project we crossed 2000 pages. So i hope in this project also we will create above 500 pages from the public libraries. According to the research scholar Dr. Savithri, all the stories of the C. N. Annadurai are published in different periodicals from 1934 to 1966. The examples for the periodical Dravida_Nadu and Periyarkutiarasu. Few publications collected and published the short stories but partially.
2. Yes, i confirm that these short stories are by the same public domain author who is the author of the previous approved project.
3. Last time, i introduced these study materials as screencasts for the proof reading. I splitted the work flow according to their interest and then i explained every body's role as important. Then successfully completed the project. This time, in this training session, they are going to share their experiences as interactions. Also, i am going to introduce pdf making nuances and the licenses of Wikimedia commons particularly about India. and Template:PD-TamilGov. Next time, one the women going to apply for the WMF fund after their dicussion.
4. Yes. This project period is not having any academic time hurdles. Because this academic year started last month (July) only.
5. // In your prior project's Final Report for the letters project answered "No" to the compliance question// Sorry for that. It is not complaint but it is a suggestion about the India's income tax system particularly about TDS. I posted my answer in the respective column of the previous report's column in the Wikimedia Fluxx.
6. Kindly excuse me for the mistake. I resubmitted this budget template in the Wikimedia Fluxx portal. Kindly take the budget for your consideration. Thanks in advance. Info-farmer (talk) 19:34, 4 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

Your Project Application is Approved

[edit]

Dear @Info-farmer,

We appreciate your effort in responding to the questions. We have completed the review of the application, and I am pleased to inform you that your project application is approved for ₹1,25,800.

I appreciate you clarifying the compliance question - understood that this was a comment on the TDS process rather than an actual compliance issue, and that it was posted in the wrong column of the previous report.

On the TDS point - the deduction is mandated under Indian tax law. So that isn't something that can be waived. Filing an ITR isn't mandatory for individuals below the taxable threshold, but it remains the available route to reclaim the TDS deducted, should you choose to file.

Please make sure to document all of your activities and learning in the final report for review and others to learn from. Looking forward to seeing an impactful outcome and collaboration in this project. Wishing you all the best for the project! Thanks PDas (WMF) (talk) 15:48, 12 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
