Aafi’s mentorship and DCW’s hands-on guidance transformed Wiki Club AMU from an idea into action. His initiative Train a Wikipedian program - where I grew from doubting my skills to leading, proves DCW’s grassroots impact. Funding this plan means our club gets stronger tools, mentorship, and resources to tackle knowledge gaps. Follow up and budget-modifications

Dear @PDas (WMF): Thank for sharing your observations during our call on April 4, 2025. I truly appreciate your support. Our Executive Board had a meeting today to discuss the associated challenges and to find a way forward. Subject to our board resolution, we have dissolved certain roles to comply with the feedback, and to make sure DCW remains vibrant enough and has access to resources to sustain its programs and activities. Given this, I am glad to share the modified version of the budget, respecting your suggestion of allocating up to 40% only to programmatic costs. We have also reduced the grant-total to 4,20,000 INR. I am hoping that this resolves the concerns you had. Should you have any other concerns or need detailed breakdown for any specific line, please let me know. Note on project funding amount

In your award letter/email, you may observe that the USD equivalent of your local currency may be different from the floating exchange rate on Oanda. This is because (at the moment) we apply a pre-determined exchange rate for each project application as determined by the WMF Finance team. Hence the local currency approved amount had to be adjusted.

We know even the best thought through plans may change.

If your project implementation timeline changes, you can get in touch and ask for a project extension, which would mean an extension of the project's end date. Similarly, if there is a surplus budget or changes to your planned budget, you can reach out to me about reallocation (via email and on this talkpage).

@PDas (WMF): Thank you for this good news. I was expecting a start date as early as May 1st, but all fine if it is set as the 15th. Additionally, I just wanted to have this clarified: does the approved amount stand exclusive of the CA fee and how will the institutional fee be handled? Hi @Aafi (DCW), the approved project amount (₹418,316.32) is inclusive of the CA fee of ₹8,000. However, the Institutional Partner’s service fee is not part of the approved amount and will be handled separately. I hope this provides clarity. PDas (WMF) (talk) 12:48, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
