See Commons:Village_pump#Wikiview visual search: in WikiView one can search by image. @Anonymous1261: However, it doesn't contain most images on WMC and may not work well. I mentioned your proposal in the VP discussion. Also see Wikimedia Commons Imagehash Search (it's probably only about detecting whether an image already exists on WMC). Lastly, a better way to find images than by sketches is probably via text description which can use categories, file descriptions, and machine vision.
