@JWheeler-WMF Two advantages of my proposal are:

1. Those who know the full name of the tag can access the tag quicker than typing the full name or scrolling, by typing in the minimum string necessary to filter out all (or even just most) other tags
2. Users who are unfamiliar for a tags full name can try searching based on keywords for it (this is particularly useful in cases for when the tag displays differently to how it's called; to find diffs with a reverted tag, you currently have to type in mw-reverted, but under this proposal both would work.
