What flow is this serving
[edit]@WikiBayer I think I kind of understand where you are coming from, but I'm not 100 percent sure. Are you thinking of this mostly as a user looking towards the contributions of another user, or are you also looking at this from the perspective of being able to understand your own contributions ? It sounds to me more as from the perspective of a user looking into the actions of another user?
I was thinking that perhaps it might be an idea to have Special:UserInvestigation, or an 'investigation' mode to User:contributions that users can activate to give them more options when they are active and interested in this kind of information. That way it would not overwhelm other users with too much information, which I think is the problem of the design as you show in the idea. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 14:04, 4 November 2024 (UTC)
- @TheDJ @WikiBayer Does UserInfo card fulfill this need to some extent? -- NKohli (WMF) (talk) 15:26, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- @NKohli (WMF) The user info card is definitely practical. However, I am talking about displaying logbooks, which the info card does not do. (This would also be rather inappropriate at this point, as the info card only displays general information and no details.) 𝐖𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 👤💬 (WikiBayerCatHelper) 17:16, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- Understood. Thanks for your response. It's definitely an interesting idea. I'll keep this in mind for future. -- NKohli (WMF) (talk) 05:16, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Day after the fair
[edit]I really wish we had gotten something like this earlier. Integrating Contributions, DeletedContributions, Log/block, Log/spamblacklistlog, AbuseLog, etc. into one timeline could save a lot of time when assessing an actor's activity. This would have been particularly useful for anonymous users. (Unlike user accounts, IPs are usually blocked temporarily.) With Temporary Accounts deployed, however, an anonymous individual's timeline will span only three months. --Matěj Suchánek (talk) 13:45, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
