Hello! It's a good idea, but it would only work on computers, and nowadays, there is more than 80% of readers via mobile devices with tactile screens. So, it seems to me that it is not a perennial solution. Noé (talk) 18:02, 27 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think the wish Rewrite ImageAnnotator or integrate it into MediaWiki WikibaseMediaInfo is related to this one. Perhaps an overarching wish would be a brand new ImageAnnotator tool that supports layers of labels for use in various projects. For example on Commons you edit a layer of labels for an image to be used on French Wiktionary. Commander Keane (talk) 09:43, 30 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
