Acknowledgment of Wish: Date/Time Picker and OSM Integration Improvements in Wikidata

[edit]

Thank you for submitting this wish and for sharing your experience, we’ve received it.

We’ll take some time to identify which team would be responsible for evaluating this request and review it in light of the current plans. We’ll follow up with you once we have more clarity. ARamadan-WMF (talk) 11:24, 28 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello again!
Improving the editing experience on Wikidata is a long-term focus for the team. We're currently working on reworking the user interface, starting with making it easier to edit statements on mobile. As part of this, we also plan to improve how geocoordinates are entered, and these changes will eventually be extended to the desktop version.
While we can’t promise that every specific point you mentioned will be addressed, your feedback is helpful and aligns with our broader goals to make Wikidata more user-friendly, especially for new contributors.
You can follow the ongoing work here: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Usability_and_usefulness/Item_editing_experience/Mobile_editing_of_statements ARamadan-WMF (talk) 09:09, 4 August 2025 (UTC)Reply
@Rugk
Thank you for your wish!
Just wanted to check in to see if the points above help resolve your wish? MikeZ-WMF (talk) 11:57, 27 November 2025 (UTC)Reply
Hi and thanks, well it's ongoing development so I could not test it yet, but let's see how it is when it's live/testable. rugk (talk) 08:57, 14 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
To join the mobile editing testing group and also give more direct feedback to the UX team involved in this larger long-term effort to improve usability, join here: https://greatquestion.co/wikimediadeutschland/bo2e7e2a/direct
For now I'll mark this wish as "prioritized" since there are overlaps between your feedback and the project page. If you think the direction may fulfill your wish, I can mark it as in progress. MikeZ-WMF (talk) 12:43, 5 March 2026 (UTC)Reply
