Update on Discovery Feed Wish

Thank you for writing this detailed wish. The good news is that the Apps team is actively working on an Explore Feed Refresh project, which looks at modernizing the feed experience, improving personalization and freshness signals, and making discovery more engaging for readers.

You’re very welcome to add your thoughts and feedback on the Discussion page of the Explore Feed Refresh project page. I’ll also make sure your comments from this wish are referenced there so they can be considered as part of the ongoing work. We’re open to input from anyone interested, and community perspectives are an important part of shaping how this evolves.

I like the concepts shown on that page. How were the "return intent rankings" calculated? I agree with the test results that the DYKs and personalized new articles would work best (at least for me). InfernoHues (talk) 01:45, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

Good question! We showed prototypes to the usability testing participants and then asked them to rank them based on which ones they think would be most likely to get them to return. The scores reflect which options were ranked most highly on average. Cheers, Sdkb-WMF ^talk 01:54, 20 July 2026 (UTC)
