why it doesn't yet exist

The problem with category data is that there are no technical limits on it. It can be 3 million entries or more. This poses significant technical challenges for exporting such information, esp. when you also want all subcategories (which can loop). Why

Can you enhance your wish, with WHY you want such a tool ? What will you use the exported list for. How many people need such a list. etc etc. etc. I think that would significantly enhance any chance to success. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 08:17, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Thanks @TheDJ - @Joris Darlington Quarshie I agree, this wish has a clear "solution" for what you want to build, however it is unclear why this wish is important.
