[edit]Hello @Aca,
Thank you for submitting this wish, we'll investigate internally to identify which team might be responsible for this area, and we’ll get back to you once we have more clarity.
Appreciate your continued contributions!

- @ARamadan-WMF: Hello! This wish was endorsed by the Cross-Project Cooperation Initiative (CPCI) yesterday. CPCI members expressed their desire to publish the wish on behalf of the initiative, alongside my username as the original proposer. As I cannot edit the
|proposer=parameter, I would like to ask you to consider editing it if appropriate. - Suggested edit:
| proposer = Aca (talk); with the endorsement of the Cross-Project Cooperation Initiative
- or
| proposer = Aca (talk), on behalf of the Cross-Project Cooperation Initiative
- Thank you in advance, Aca (talk) 19:01, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Aca thanks for sharing this wish and the additional context from the CPCI.
- This is an interesting wish, and one that I'd like to consider later next year. I've added it to the Community Wishlist/Focus areas/Task prioritization focus area, however I should caution that it's possible we won't address this wish. We have done extensive research regarding watchlist and recent changes, which have identified major UX gaps in filtering and managing watchlists. The major finding was that watchlist already feels very cluttered to users, and there's an inherent risk in adding more links to this page.
- 51% of Wikipedians edit more than one language wiki, which suggests this feature may be necessary, however we'd want to better understand how frequently users "hop" between Watchlists in multiple languages. JWheeler-WMF (talk) 18:46, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- @JWheeler-WMF: Thank you for your response! I actually do agree that Recent changes and Watchlist are quite cluttered. That's why I would suggest integrating these language links within the Universal Language Selector, just like some wikis are already doing. This way, there's no additional clutter, and the links can be found intuitively. – Aca (talk) 19:24, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
