Proposed Fon Wikimedians User Group

Dear Wikimedia Affiliates and Community Members, We are excited to announce our intent to form the Fon Wikimedians User Group, a new Wikimedia User Group. This user group arms to promote the free sharing of knowledge on Wikipedia Fon and Wikidata, and contribute to collaborative projects like Wiktionary and Wikimedia Commons.

Mission Our mission is to support Wikimedia movement by organizing events, workshops, edit-a-thons, content creation on Wikipedia Fon and collaborative projects.

Language: Fon-gbe

Themes: Governance, culture and fashion, history, geography, politics, environment, Women, human rights, sports and education

Geographical Region: We are based in Abomey-Calavi, Republic of Benin, and plan to expand our activities into cities where the Fon population is predominant in partnership with several organizations, such as the Wikimedians of Benin User Group.

Activities : Our group is primarily focused on culture and fashion, history, geography, politics, environment, women, human rights, sports, and education in Benin, across African countries, and around the world.

Call for Collaboration We warmly invite collaboration and support from affiliates and individuals throughout the Wikimedia movement. We believe that by joining forces with fellow user groups and partners, we can amplify our impact and contribute to a stronger, more inclusive global Wikimedia ecosystem.
