In the FAQ, it says

  • Where do the quotes at the top of the sitenotice banner come from?
Those are all real quotes from real users of the projects. We have put them in the sitenotice to demonstrate that real people use and appreciate the projects, and to give them a voice telling us why.

They are real users, no doubt (WMF would'nt make up the comments, I hope :-). But the impression I get from donate.wikimedia.org is that they are written by the people who donate ("public comment"). Is that correct, and wouldn't that be a better answer? /NH 08:43, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation issue[edit]

Why don't create and add a "Translation status" template like other pages which need to be translated? Without that template, most people would feel that this page is not officially needed (or not so necessary) to be translated. -- Kevinhksouth 13:44, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
