Rather than going nuts trying to contact every Wikimedia participant via village pumps, I think we can also adopt another approach that is used at Wikia. Every Wikia wiki website (example) has a sidebar box for "messages from Wikia". The Wikia staff can thus easily cause notices and other messages to appear on every Wikia webpage, so easy communication with the entire Wikia community of active editors is fairly easy. I suspect that a developer could provide such a sidebar feature in a short period of time. --JWSurf 16:08, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
