Talk:Fundraising 2007/web buttons

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

If the project logos may be used the buttons/banners must be under WMF copyright and may not have a free license, otherwise it could become problematic. - Shouldn't we link directly to the donation page (different pages depending on language)? And shouldn't we offer html code that people can copy/paste into their website/blogs etc.? This would make it easier for many. Cheers :-) --Sabine 20:25, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! We should, absolutely offer this. I'm working on it :{)> Cary Bass demandez 16:43, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

logo-size[edit]

120 x 240 px? Did you probably mean 240 x 120 px? best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 13:52, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Interested[edit]

I am interested in making the banners. See en:WP:BANNER When is the due date? I am pretty good with Spanish, but not too good on the other languages. I can make custom made text and make the banners. Just give me a deadline and I can do it. Please tell me which license I need to use (preferably cc-nc-by-sa). I check my English talk page more often and may ask around on IRC for help with translations. Thanks. Miranda 20:17, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ads[edit]

Can someone translate "Free Images for All" into all languages except Spanish, please? Thanks. Miranda 02:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Image:Qxz-ad89.gif is kinda problematical since we don't allow NC images.Geni 12:04, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
yeah, it's a bit confusing :) Cary Bass demandez 12:22, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Geni, the Qxz ad is cc-by-sa 3.0. However, I got confused on the other ad since it it used the logo. I am changing it back to cc-by-sa 3.0. Miranda 12:56, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"wikimedia commons needs your free non commercial images" you see the problem no?Geni 13:58, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(reduce indent) I fixed this. Miranda 17:09, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Commons ad[edit]

English - "free (not liberated/no cost) images for all"
French - "images libres pour tous"
Portuguese - "Imagens livres para todos"
Spanish - Imágenes libres para todos.
Polish - "wolne grafiki dla każdego"
German - freie Bilder für alle
Nederlands - Vrije afbeeldingen voor iedereen
Norwegian - Frie bilder for alle - last ad

I have the French and Portuguese ads ready. However, I did the Polish ad, but someone changed the translation when I reloaded the page. I might do these in the next week or so. Miranda 21:15, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
@de: it is not "bilder" but "Bilder", please change, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 09:48, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More logos[edit]

After discussing this project on the Foundation-l list, I created two logos: Image:Wikimedia Fundraiser 2007.png, and Image:Wikimedia Fundraiser 2007 with Wikipedia Globe.png. Someone may want to add these to the page. Titoxd(?!?) 06:41, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translation for banners for Wikimania 2008[edit]

We need web banners for Wikimania 2008. I have created two if people are interested. We need the dates finalized though. Can someone (Cary) make the mini banner with the Wikimania logo, or I can (I just need to figure it out with GIMP). Thanks. Miranda 20:38, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nice idea. But I am not sure if it is good to mix it with Fundraising banners for now. Since we have a separate budget for Wikimania basically and the dates are not yet finalized, while proposed. Please stay tuned and wait for the update. --Aphaia 21:20, 11 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
