Will GSR accept protections and blocks[edit]

I think GSR should accept protection and blocks (blocks only for obvious spambot in one wiki, not multiple wikis, in case we need to use SRG). I also think it's not a controversial requests, only obvious ones. Also we need a bot to function this page as w:en:WP:AIV. Thingofme (talk) 11:58, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

To GSs...[edit]

Sorry for flooding GSR, and thanks a lot for fulfilling my requests. NguoiDungKhongDinhDanh 00:19, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Changes that will affect all global sysops[edit]

I mentioned this at Stewards' noticeboard, but this will affect you and all anti-vandal folks, too:

  • IP masking will happen, probably within the next 6–12 months (October 2023–March 2024, or maybe later).
  • It will not happen all at once. I assume that a lot of tools will need to be updated. The idea is to start at a couple of wikis, see what needs to be fixed, and then spread to other wikis.
  • Global sysops and local admins will be able to see IP addresses. You'll need to click the button saying you agree to respect people's privacy, but that part should all be quick and easy for you.

You can read foundation:Policy:Access to temporary account IP addresses and the FAQ. If you are interested, please keep an eye on the IP masking page. I believe that some software details will be posted soon. Whatamidoing (WMF) (talk) 23:53, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bot for removing done deletion requests[edit]

I am an operator of several bots on German Wikipedia (auto-signing, vandalism IP report marking as done). Would it be helpful if I wrote a bot to remove deletion requests when the mentioned page has been deleted? Of course that would pattern match only simple one-page deletion requests as reported via SWViewer or TwinkleGlobal. Count Count (talk) 07:43, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
