Talk:Google Grants

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

I disagree with the usage of the ads to direct people to the contributions page. I think it would be much better to use it to direct people to some of the smaller Wikipedias (say, the 1,000 to 5,000 range), and show them it exists in their language as well. - Andre Engels 12:52, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea. If you provide Templates in smaller Wikipedia languages. -- Nichtich 21:14, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What about smaller projects like wikispecies, wikinews, wikisource etc. Bawolff 23:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see it's too late for changes, the deadline is over. But I nonetheless want to state that I believe the German texts to be complete nonsense. Using the keyword "news" and a link title "We, the journalists - our world, our news" to link to the Wikimedia donation site is considered to be simply SPAM! All 3 German texts link to the German donation page. That's much too direct and not informative. People can't see what this for an organisation, they are directly forced to donate. There are 4 false spellings used for library (bibliothek, biblothek, biblotek, bibliotek), but Wikimedia has nothing to do with a library. It would have been better to use one text for Wikimedia Deutschland (main page!) and others for Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikinews, Wikisource, Wikiquote. --85.25.111.111 15:11, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fields[edit]

Hmm, i suppose the fields were indicated so that one could correct the size of the entries. But which field do the various names correspond to? (:Julien:) 23:54, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

English Target KeyWords[edit]

-I suggest the addition to the English target keywords; information, intelligence, and possibly even database or resources. --Earendil 17:44, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

EN ad[edit]

I think the second English advert needs rewording - "Providing free access to the world's knowledge isn't cheap" automatically tells people that you are reaching out for their money and probably wouldn't get a single click. Perhaps something along the lines of 'and we need your help'? Then let the target page explain all. Archer7 23:10, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiPedia or Wikimedia ?[edit]

Why some are with wikipedia (in green, which everyone can read and understand) and some with wikimedia (in green, which most are wikipedia andmin or webmasters) fr:w:user:Yug 15:05, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Target domains[edit]

Was the restriction on target domains lifted? I didn't find it in the email confirmation from Google, but maybe it's in the terms of service somewhere. --Nemo 09:06, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
