Talk:Internet-in-a-Box/Southern Africa

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

What a good idea! However, it strikes me that kiSwahili is East African, and there are many smaller Southern African languages that are not included. Thoughts?

We have a Wikipedia article on the region[1]
Happy to add other languages of WP. Just need people to translate the intros. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 01:07, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that we need intros in many languages, but people working in health care will already be somewhat literate in at least one "larger" language even if it's not their mother tongue. The southernmost "francophone" country on the mainland is DRC which is more central Africa than southern, but offshore we have "francophone" islands further south (Comores, Madagascar, Reunion, Mauritius). I wonder if there should be an "Indian Ocean" edition of Medbox.

I am soon meeting with med students in Cape Town to further the idea of a Southern Africa edition.Michaelgraaf (talk) 09:48, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
