Talk:Learning patterns/Best practices in training adults

From Meta, a Wikimedia project coordination wiki

Thanks for creating this learning pattern. I am not sure to what extent pointing to "a body of knowledge about how best to educate or train adults that involves some easily grasped principles" is really a solution, more a signpost towards a solution. In the UK we have the Train the Trainers programme which basically involves an intensive 2-day training session, plus a follow up refresher course. We have found the course is very helpful, and would suggest that for a Wikimedian to become an effective trainer is a bit more involved. That said I think your learning pattern is fine, to the extent that it recognises the need to understand the difference between presentation and training.
